A limited number of PWBs came in and I built 3 just to see how they assembled and flashed them. Tested them in the car and they work fine.
    A pic is attached.

Have you set a price yet?

I'm having trouble moving my Arduino version over to a project box. Since I'm finding less and less time to work on mine I may just buy yours so I can get get my mess out of the passenger side foot well.

The price is still $30 + Shipping & Handling which I estimate as an additional $3 within the US.

I am thinking of adding a short cable with Tyco MTA connectors to make it plugable.

The SD cases are not here.

The Hysol PCB air-cure PCB overcoat is not here, or Parlene could be used to protect against moisture especially when used on a Gen III in the engine compartment under the covers and next to the ECU.

I will take a macro pic this weekend and post it.

An even smaller version was laid out using a pic16f684 in a QFN16 package and a mcp4911 in a DFN8 package.
The SW has already been ported over to the DIP prototype and tested. Licensed Eagle Lite was used as the layout tool.

Sold! Thanks! Could you remind me if the temperature set points are adjustable? :)

I'll buy one now from you if you'll let me. I dont need a case or anything. I have small cases I could put it in and wrap it up.

I would also like to know the set points.

Does your verision stop faking at say 100F and start faking at 105 or something like that so there is a buffer range or does it have a start/stop faking at a set number like 100F?

In this version, the ECTSpoofer does not have the required push buttons and 3 digit LCD Glass to enable user adjustments to the trip points.
The trip points are set at build time,
2 EQU HEX values are changed prior to BUILD ALL.

If you do not object PM me with email addy and shipping address, I will log into my PayPal act and see if I can remember how to generate an invoice.

Yes there is an Hysteresis of around 8 Fareneheit degrees.

Warming UP: ECT starting say below 90 deg F spoofing starts at around 114 deg F.
Temperature as read by the ECU (and a Scangauge) then goes to 168 +4-2 deg F.
Spoofing stops at 172 deg F with the Spoofer disconnecting itself so that the ECU can bring the fan on if required as the temperature rises.

Cooling Down: Spoofing will start at 170 deg F, Scangauge will show 166-170. At 108-107 deg F actual, the ECU (and Scangauge) will change from 170 to 108.

So at temperatures lower than 108F it also disconnects itself to let the ECU measure the real temperature?

Yes, and please be careful working in the engine compartment at that time as if the status is READY the engine could start...heater on?

This is the type of plug and play, high quality product I've been waiting for since February of 2008. I read and attempted a copy of several PC'ers bread board hacks, with limited success. Please, please, please tell me that you are going to have a consumer ready version in the near future.

Any idea how much of the work you've done here would be easily transferrable to a Ford Escape Hyrid version of your project?

Will anxiously follow the thread to see how you do and hope you can get enough into production to recoup the value of at least some of your time and investment!

    Thanks for your encouragement.

I am not sure when this 'device' can be tested on a Ford Escape Hybrid as I do not know the response of the NTC circuit that is probably used .
With this in mind I know that the NTC circuit values used in the EEC-V in my 02 Stang GT and I have built a load using the temperature trip points similar to the Prius and it works fine, no hardware changes required. For anyone interested the ECT uses pin 38 on the EEC-V's 104 pin connector.
For use on a Escape Hybrid or any other vehicle that uses the Linearized NTC approach to determine ECT, the ECTSpoofer will need 3 values to be loaded at build time. Hooks are in the Firmware to make the unit determine the 3rd parameter itself but has not been enabled.

If you know what pin is used for the NTC sensor, +5V and GND, Vout at say 115 deg and 170 deg a build for the Ford Hybrids could be generated.
