Footwell lighting???

    Does the foot lighting go off or stay on all the time? I want to change the bulbs to LED but if they are going to stay on it might be distracting.

    The foot well lights stay on, but dim down in drive and reverse to just a soft glow!

    What trim line(s) have the foot well lighting? I was just reading through the online manual for 2012 MY and, under Sec 3-3 Using the interior lights, p. 353, I see that there are "foot lights (if equipped)" listed. Can someone confirm this for me? Thanks! :)

    Our 2012 Prius Three has the amber lights under the dash. No other options but Solar roof.

    That's interesting. So it was standard on the 2010/11 Four and Five, but is now found on the 2012 Three. Can someone confirm whether or not the 2012 Two has it?

    The footwell lighting is already LED from the factory, it uses an amber LED.

    If it is LED then that is pretty cool that it has dimming capability. I am going to have to try to tap in to that to extend the footwell lighting to the back seating area.

    Does anyone know what led we could use to change it to blue? Led has to dim i assume. Also how to access it, for the switch. Thanks guys

    Ok got some new white light bulbs for footwell lighting, and also glove box. Does anyone one have any insight as to how to access the bulbs to replace them? Hoping someone else has done this and can help

    I've never looked on the driver's side, but the passenger side is very easy to remove. There's a plastic cover that is held by 3 clips, pull that out but do not pull completely out as the footwell lighting is attached. Locate the back of the LED bulb and simply unplug it.

    Got it done. After getting the new bulbs and seeing how they just snapped in, it was a "snap". Didnt even have to remove and anything. Plenty of room to fit my hands behind replace with new ones. Now i have all white/blue lights in the interior and am at peace.

    Nice! Are they any brighter? I wish it was a tad brighter in Drive. It's barely on.
