Just bought a Prius v with all the trimmings. Very satisfied with the car with <160 miles driven. I have noted only one negative thing so far - when interacting with the cockpit computer, such as entering map destinations, the computer behind it just seems to "stall" or go to sleep for 10s of seconds at a time. It is quite frustrating to wait 30 seconds between individual button pushes to enter in a destination address. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? I haven't had the opportunity to contact the dealer yet.

haven't noticed that at all in my v Five with AT, the nav is much snappier than in my '05 Prius V.

I haven't noticed this problem but I did just notice something in the nav manual that might help. It says that, in the event of a slowdown in the display, you should push the volume/nav power button for 5 seconds to reset the nav system. Hope that helps.

It appears that the Toyota navigation system will not allow inputs while the car is in motion. This being my first Prius, I am not sure if this is standard or not. As a passenger, I could start entering info at a stoplight, but could not continue until the next stoplight.

So, is this SOP for Toyota/Prius nav systems?
Can this be modified at the dealer? Seems silly to have to pull over and stop so that nav info can be entered.

    Thanks in advance!

That is standard for all Denso systems. It is a safety "feature". The way around it is to use voice navigation input, but I am not sure if any Toyota models have it.

Any 'v' with nav has voice command capability. And it works very well, I might add.
