No problem. Glad I could help.

No more annoying multi-beep reverse and seat belts warning.

Bump, has anyone else successfully used the $295 Drew Tech cable with their Gen II or Gen III Prius?

    Thanks.

I've used both the Drew Tech Mongoose MFC as well as the cheaper Mangoose cable for occasional health checks etc. Has worked fine. Recently, however, I've tried more features of Techstream, but got some errors. With Techstream 4.21, the "Communication Bus Check" only listed 3 ECUs. Customizations didn't work at all: Couldn't find anything to customize.

After upgrading to Techstream 6.20, it works slightly better. I was able to turn off the reverse beep, for example. But there are still systems under "Customization" that lists nothing to customize, and on the "system selection menu", there are several ECUs marked with a star, indicating "ECU not supported or responding".

Any ideas? I do not have access to the Drew Tech cable at this time, so I cannot verify if the problem is caused by the cheaper Mangoose cable. Has anyone been able to find updated drivers? The reference is to j2534.cn, but it contains nothing but ads.

Or, perhaps the problem is that I've selected the wrong model? I can select between "S/D, Others" containing China -1112, China 1112-, Korea -1009, Korea 1009-1112, Korea 1112-, Others -1009, Others, 1009-1112, Others 1112. Or, I can select "W/G" with options Radar Cruise and Others. I assume the numbers denotes months/years, but what about "S/D, Others" versus "W/G"?

not sure if anyone asked but would this work?

i was able to disable the seatbelt/backup beep with elm327 android app and would be fine with it if codes were readily available but sadly its not or hard to acquire. does one have the full set of code?

    thanks

Looks like some basic ecu functions you guys can manage. You guys able to change engine related settings? Timing, idc, etc? Also turning off codes? For example I heard an intake will throw cels, prob bc air coming in is past ecu thresholds for the o2 sensor? It'd be nice to tune this type of stuff out. Or more aggressigvely tune properly for e85 =).

    Samsung Epic ?.

Just a data point here.....I've got a 2012 Prius Option 4. I tried the instructions found at a link I found on this site to change the multiple backup beeps to a single beep. They did not work. I guess that I'll have to live with it for a while, or take it to the dealership to see if they will be able to make the changes for me. Thanks. I will post the link when I am able.

The strange thing about this item is the lack of reference to J2534, the protocol for the Prius and other newer Toyotas. Perhaps just an oversight, but this is a glaring omission.

Check in this spreadsheet that Vincent created. It has the codes you're looking for (well, at least some of them).

try using the bluetooth odbii its 20 bucks on ebay. you can get the free elm327 and torque app at the android market.

it took me less than 3 min to end the beeps. one of forum member written a blog about it. the seat belt part is the same just follow the pattern.

    thanks for the replies

i looked though this spread sheet but does not have the one ones i want. e.g. auto light shut off. but i will defiantly play with it :D

    -----snijd
well looks like i will get it just to see....
if it does work... i wonder if i turn on the hyperterminal and set it to the port used, will it show the query? if so that would be awesome! would defiantly contribute to the torque app.

That is the link that I was trying to add to my post, but I'm still too new. I followed the procedure listed, but it did not work for my 2012 Prius. I could connect to the OBDII using the Torque app, as well as an ELM327 app that the article talks about. When I tried to enter the codes, it returned with an error message. I ended up sending the OBDII back to Amazon.
