Dealer couldn't fix mine today and don't know what to do with it. Toyota is sending me another flash drive, I asked the dealer what they were going to do if that doesn't work and he said he didn't know. Confidence inspiring.

Took mine back in to the dealer. They pulled the radio out to get a number off the Entunes module so they can order it. They didn't know how long to get it in though. This is after they talked to Toyota tech three times. We'll see??

After "Azfalconfixer" had problems (I also have a 2012 Prius 3 w/Solar) I was wary about installing the Entune update I got over the weekend. I updated it yesterday-Monday from V1.7.4 with no problems.
I like the new Movie listings and restaurant reservations! Pandora still works great except in dead-cell areas. Haven't tried the new voice commands yet.
The flier that held the memory stick also says "Enables future over-the-air updates". Probably via cell data plan like Android apps update(?).
Sorry for you guys having problems updating.
My thanks to Toyota for following through with the Entune update; never heard of someone sending out the update on a physical memory stick.

I think my car was built on Friday. The Entunes crashed and the front end shakes (Toyota can't seem to fix it!)

So I just called Toyota Care (1-800-331-4331) again. I told them that I had talked to them Friday and they were going to overnight me a new thumbdrive. After spending a couple of minutes looking over my account she said they were not authorized to send out new drives on Friday, that they had not identified the problem at that time. She said it wasn't until today that they had received authorization to overnight the new drives. I asked her specifically if this was an updated software package and she said yes. So I probably won't get the new drive until day after tomorrow because of the time of day... so we will see.

For those still having update problems: there is a log file "swdlLog.txt" that is created on the Entune update thumb drive during the update process that may shed some light on where or what is failing. Not sure if it gets re-written with every re-try or added to.
Looks like the "swdl.iso" is a disk image of a Linux file system. Gee, my Android phone and my car are both based on the OS we run on our servers.

See my post on this in another thread, along with Toyota Erica's response, and my follow-up suggestions on what they should do with Entune.

My experience has been much like yours. The dealer's staff has been very supportive. After getting a replacement USB stick earlier in the week and having it repeatedly fail at package 6, I went to the dealer where they tried with their "dealer" USB stick (It's a different color than the red ones). After several tries with it stopping at pkg. 6, the guy said he thought it was not the USB stick but something within the display unit. They consulted with Toyota and tried whatever fixes were suggested. No luck. They are ordering a replacement module and will let me know when it arrives. One theory was that something within that first USB stick "blew out" (my words) something in the entunes module.

Called Entune support a 3rd time and this time they told me they won't overnite the USB drives and it will take up to two weeks (They break your Entune system and make you wait 2 weeks for a resolution that may not work). I went to a dealer by my work and they had the new USB drive, the new version didn't work either. This dealer was much more helpful than the dealer I bought the car from, they took a look to see if they could do anything then asked when I could leave my car so they could really work on it. I will bring it Monday. As a side note this is Longo Toyota, I'm reserving full judgement until the problem is resolved but so far they have been good. As a further side note their customer care area had a Subway and Starbucks so I got lunch while I waited :)

Dropped my car off at the dealer last night so they could fix the Entunes. Got a call today, they changed the Entunes module and it's all fixed. We'll see when I pick it up later.:)

All fixed, they changed the entune extension box. The tech said the new box came with the old software and was nervous to update it but it updated fine. All seems to work now:)

Thank you, Azfalconfixer, for the update on the Entunes fix. Mine is scheduled for next week. Fingers are crossed that it goes as well as yours did.

I am happy to report that the Entunes update problem I had has been corrected via the dealer and a replacement box. Amen.

I also had the Entune update "write failed at update 6" problem on my brand new Plug-in. It took a few days for the dealer to get the extension box and they installed it this morning. The new extension box took the update properly and I appear to be back in business.
