    K. I'm not sure if it's the same for my car but could you please link me to a thread with the pictures? I swear I'm not being lazy I've been looking all evening and have not seen a single picture.

Sorry bro.....no pics on my end. I didn't even know that thread was here. I changed my relay with in the first few days after getting mine. It did take me awhile to find it. Try turning on the OMG lights & listen/follow the clicking.

Looking at your pics. I see a blue thing you're focused on in the first picture. Looks like a harness going into the ?relay? Is the relay something with a harness going into it with the 3 clips u mentioned, and with the other side free? Judging from my replacement I'd say yes. So, is it to pry it off that harness thingie (blue) and put the replacement in its place? Is the relay itself also blue (ala your second pic)? Does your second pic show the actual relay still sitting in place? Sorry for all the questions. I'm very close to giving up on this project.

No problem with the questions, I just wish I was more sure about the 2012 MY. As mentioned in the other thread, my OEM relay was blue. The second pic shows only a portion of the relay as I yanked it out of socket (didn't know about the release clip). With the replacement relay, I didn't stick it up in the the holder, I just left it dangling up in there.

Don't give up, there are others that will benefit from your hard work. I know it is a pain,,, I still have scars on my hand.

oh ok...so it's connected to harness by those clips, and then sits in a holder. I see. Thanks for that. Let me look once more. Thanks for the input.

Thanks. That would be really helpful I imagine. Though I'm sure you have long lost your OEM relay. Would help bigtime to know what that OEM one looks like but I can't seem to find any pics of it online.

Here are some pics I just took. It came out upside down. The relay has the blue bottom. So looking up at the relay, it will be towards the right between the brake peel & the door

Once u disconnect the harness, use a small flat head screwdriver to release the clip & then the relay will slide up towards the roof of the car. Get ready cause it was a PITA to get the new 1 back into that holder.

I see something looking very similar to that but it's green. Perhaps its the wrong thing. It has Toyota and Denso written on it and the words "brake signal relay. I'm gonna post a pic in a second. I was excited for a second that this was it. But now I think perhaps it wasn't. Fact is, assuming that was it, I quickly gave up hope because the position of my foot brake pedal mechanism makes that one absolutely impossible to remove without doing some major disassembly. So I closed up shop. Now looking at the pics on google and realizing this thing is really supposed to be blue....hmmmm...now I'm doubting myself. Are you guys aware of another relay up there called the brake signal relay?

    Here is what I saw......
IMAG0586.jpg I can tell you with confidence there is NO WAY to remove that because a human hand can't fit between the space which is being allowed by the foot brake mechanism. Could there be two of these things? Is this some other relay?

^ What you have pictured here ain't it. Here are a couple of picks taken while looking straight up with your head smashed against the brake pedal. It is definitely blue and connects next to a white plastic piece with lots of square & rectangular slots.

Yeah, that doesn't look like the flasher relay. When I did my flasher, I removed the white box the connects to the brake peddle assembly. It made it a lil eaiser

lol..now he tells me. I'm not sure what that box is but I'm gonna go back under there this evening and hopefully I'll see it. Thanks a lot for the input you guys. This is exactly what I needed. Unfortunately I broke one of my LED bulbs when swapping back to stock in the mean time so I had to order another pair. I was so pissed. But ah wells it is what it is. I'll keep ya posted.

You can create a little tool that will help you locate the relay easier. Get 2 feet of 1/4 inch PVC or copper tubing, turn on the flashers, put one end of the tube against your ear and move the other end from relay to relay until you find the one making the sound.
