I see lots of scan tools that will hook up to my PC via usb port, but I can not determine if they will display High Voltage battery individual module voltages. Can someone reccomend a good scan tool that will display these voltages on my PC?

I see this Scan Tool 423001 Elmscan 5 Compact OBD-II Scan Tool and OBDwiz diagnostic software for $23 on Amazon. Will this display HV battery module voltages?

I do not need the bluetooth wireless type. Thanks, John

I use the cheap bluetooth odbii adapter and torque on an android phone loaded with the custom PIDs for the Prius that usbseawolf assembled together.

I don't need a wireless setup unless it is the only way or cheapest way to get the voltages. Which cheap obdii adapter are you using?

I do have an android phone(Motorola Milestone), but I am not sure I can figure out how to set it up with the obdii adapter. Thanks, John

If you have an Android phone or tablet, $18 for a bluetooth adapter is a no brainer.

Here is a link to the custom PID thread.

Thanks for the recomendation. I read the thread above but it is so technical and lengthy that I could not come away with what to buy. I will try the ELM327 diagnostics USB Cable based on what your outcome was. Could you monitor the HV battery module voltages with this setup? Thanks, John

Look for "mini vci" on eBay. It works for GenII.

I think this "mini vci techstream 7.10 vehicle diagnostic device" may be what I need. Can you verify that you can read the HV battery module voltages using this mini vci device hooked up to your PC? If so, the price seems reasonable at $26 on ebay. Do I need additional software to display the HV battery module voltages using this device? Thanks, John
