12v Values, too low?

    This chart is for flooded lead-acid batteries. Add 0.3V to the values for AGM.

    Thanks for the heads up. What is your opinion of the chart in the attached pdf file? Is there a better source of a voltage chart for AGM for reference?

    Last time at the dealer they told me the voltage was low and I thought they were just trying to screw me out of some money.

    My 2007 is probably getting towards the end of its life. It's this a DIY item?

    Yes, lots of video's online. Very simple job.

    Hardest thing is putting the little screw in on top that holds the plastic duct for the traction battery.

    Tools needed

    10 MM and 12 MM sockets in 3/8" drive, some extensions, a ratchet and 10MM and 12MM wrenches.
    Flat Blade Screwdriver
    A small hammer to help break loose bolts.

    Takes about an hour.

    I am disabled and was able to do it myself with the tools listed above. A drop light helps unless you have a very well lit area. Just make sure to disconnect the negative first at the body and reconnect it last.

    The battery is on the passenger side of the car in the back under the floor boards. Lift out the big black box that covers the spare tire and then you should be able to see it. Look at everything closely. If you are mechanically inclined, it should be a straight forward job.

    It is also wise in addition to removing the neg first you can also disconnect the 2 pos leads from the fuse attachment assy that is mounted on top of the pos terminal. They just unclick and pull out. Makes it easier & safer for re-assembly.

    It's been nearly 5 months since my original post. Finally switched the battery out tonight. Been watching the values every week. There wasn't much change for a long time, then started to see the 'load' value drop to low-mid 11's. Also noticed my engine running when it should not have been - car fully warm, already been through the different stages then pull up at a stop sign and the engine was running again. No a/c on and temps in the 80's. Had to stop for a full 10 seconds before the engine would shut off again. Just didn't make sense. Maybe they aren't related. I'll see tomorrow.

    Opted for an Optima Yellow Top. Charged it for 24 hours until fully charged (13.1, as suggested). Only took 30 min for the install - it's my second.
