And what the heck is a PIP driver doing here anyway?

I was thinking more like #1 and #18 or so, just to test the idea. It would annoy fewer people.

Just wondering what the numbers look like if I cut out duplicates by car type:

Subset of Top 20 MPG Record Holders by car type
    1. ufourya (Prius c) 706.4 miles @ 86.1mpg / avg. speed 27mph
    2. Ferls80 (GenIII) 750 miles @ 81.1mpg / avg. speed 25mph
    9. Tony Schaefer (GenII) 662 miles @ 72.2mpg

?? how low is the best Prius v (wagon) in MPG (as it isn't in the top 20)
?? how low is the best Prius (GenI) in MPG (as it isn't in the top 20)

is there anything else not represented besides the PiP, Prius (GenI), and the v (wagon)?

Note I'm not looking for apples to oranges so any answer to ?? above has to be a priuschatter with a 500+ mile tank with a picture of the MFD and such on here. Though I'll take the closest we get to that if a Gen I or v (wagon) can't do 500 miles.

And I think it'd be nice to put the model name in bold in the list for those entries that are the max for their model.

I agree that you are tracking people rather than tanks.

I had to read that a couple of times to parse it correctly. I saw your post and thought that post belongs on forum.worldoftanks.com not priuschat.com.

tracking = shooting the tracks on a tank to prevent it from moving so "tracking people" doesn't make sense in that context o_O

pay no attention to the guy in the blue prius, he'll wake up and figure out what you are talking about in a few minutes.

I personally think it's good to not duplicate people. There are a few reasons.
    1. Geography matters. Over the last eight years of Priuschat, we have conclusively determined that there are temperature and terrain variables that make some places more conducive to hypermiling than others.
    2. Give everyone a chance to post their best tank.
    3. Keep a small number of people from posting all their really good tanks and pushing everyone else out.

Besides, there are much more important things in life to worry about than how F8L decides to edit his list.

Geography matters, but is outside the scope of F8L's list as it would be cumbersome, if not impossible, to compute who did what over 500 miles and where and when they did it. Best tank at 70 degrees F. in Florida versus 12 F. in Colorado, etc.

Everyone can still post a best tank, it just might not be good enough to make the list.

The person posting multiple tanks could be listed based on his (or her) best tank - with other tanks included on the same line if they are better than the best tank of the person listed 20th. This is just a suggestion. However, it might be an imposition on F8L's time to constanly tend to the changing numbers - and it IS his thread.

That said, people should be allowed to worry about whatever pleases them to be worried about without anybody else worrying about what it is. My philosophy, however, is not to worry. I feel 100% better now that I've given up all hope of worry solving or resolving anything.:)

The title is "Top 20 - MPG Record Holders", not "Top 20 - MPG Records". So, a person should only be listed once with their best tank. If they get a better tank, then it can be updated.

    Speaking of which......

Justin can you update mine with 75mpg.

    Same driving techniques.
    Time of year, 1/24 - 2/5/2013.
    Mostly warmer temps (40s/70s F) except for 1/26-1/28 (consistent rain) and 1/29 & 1/30 (30s/50s F).
I only used the freeway 3 or 4 times besides my usual freeway drive to work each morning.

Edit: I wanted to add, I am 75% grill blocked.

That's great numbers, congrats! Please give details on how you grill blocked 75%? Upper and lower, or just one? I am 100% grill blocked right now on both upper and lower, since the temps have been very cold here on Long Island for the last few weeks. Current tank is at about 56 mpg via the display.

    Thanks!

I just blocked the bottom grill. I don't feel comfortable blocking the upper grill.
I was at 100% for 5 days when we hit high 20s/40s last month, then afterwards I removed a piece and went back to 75%.

And the bar keeps rising. Man, it's going to be difficult to bust into the top 10 again.

Congratulations, kalome on that wicked tank -- in winter! :)

Since F8L is probably in update mode, i'll take this chance to move up just bit (on the other board as well?). :D

Not my latest tank but January's.

    1,310.2km @ 43.8 liters ~ 3.34 l/100km
    814.12 mi @ 11.57 gallons ~ 70.36 mpg

Average speed was about 33kph/20mph according to my gps data logger app.
Average driving temp was 26C or 78.8F
    same driving techniques
Set-up is the same: Forceum D850 205/50/16 91W Non-LRRs on Volk TE37s. H&R sport springs, strut brace, stiffening brace, thicker rear sway bar, TPMS, SGII, EBH, no grill blocking.
    Terrain: hilly
    see post 372

wasn't able to take a photo of SOC but it's definitely not below 50%

I love prius2 dashboard! It reminds me the 80s science fiction technology, I love it :)
And great result, also considering the time of the year, congrats.

Now Agent J, I thought we were friends...:( And you don't take it in small steps so that I can keep up with you!o_O

Well, I guess I will have to go sulk in the corner or take up the challenge.

Unbelievable achievement! Great going. (y) As long as you keep this up I will have a goal to strive for.:D

My little car can pull 70 mpg any time it wants to without straining. The bulk of this tank was spent with the car in work mode - making deliveries from 5 to 10 mile round trips on average. This would knock six or seven of the listees down a peg.
