LED interior light kit for 2010-2012 Prius

Yeah they are, but God help you if you have one LED on a panel burn out and you ask for warranty. Prepare to put your " jump through hoops" shoes on. Don't for a minute think they will take your word for the problem or even if you send a photo, they want the panel back so they can 'examine and test' it..... before they hopefully send a replacement.

Trust me I know, I am hoop jumping now.........<siah>

 

I'm mainly interested in the one for the trunk. How bright is the LED in this kit for that? How many SMD's are on there for that application? thanks

 

I'm impressed that place in China I got the set off ebay for 25$ from has already got the item to LA per the tracking number... Not bad 5 days china to LA and guessing another 1-2 to get to me.

The one for the trunk is a small panel about 1 1/4: square that has 6 leds on it. The panel simply attaches to the inside of the trunk light lens. It's not going to blind you but it's OK.

Note: Prior to spending too much on the JDM kit I had a single "festoon type" one piece LED bulb in there. It too had 6 leds on it but they were very close to each other. The color was the same as the JDM ones, this bulb came from "superbrightleds dot com"

So brighter than stock bulb?

 

I got the JDM kit. the trunk bulb is brighter than stock.

 

LEDs above the headlights and plate light LEDs are all fried!!! I thought it was the blown fuse but found out that all four LEDs gone bad. At least all the interior LEDs are still fine. Did anyone here replace the exterior bulbs with LEDs? If yes, are they still working fine? Btw, I replaced them a month ago.

 

So far my LEDs are holding up. What kind did you get (possible photo) and where did you get them?

It looks like only the interior lights are holding up because they usually don't stay on for a long time.

 

My led's are all working perfect. I got them from Alex @ Fuzion Teknique.

 

Ditto all mine both exterior and interior are fine. Got 'em from iJDMTOY.

I did have a failure of one of the leds on the panel for the vanity mirror lights, one of the many on the panel quit after it was powered off and on 3 times. Got it replaced no problem, under warranty,

I bought these lights, same seller on e-Bay for less than $22 free shipping. The link is now updated to the correct price. It does NOT include license plate lights. It took 15 days to get them from China. They are bright white lights of moderate brightness. One of the lights was missing from the package and I am waiting for them to send it. There is a minimal language barrier, as you can see from the feedback on ebay on their negative responses. My emails with them were somewhat difficult in that they say the same thing several times back and forth and don't really answer the question the first several times. Eventually I am getting the answer. If you are like me, not too familiar with installing LED's in cars, you don't know which light goes where when you get them and there is no part number to go by on the lights to match to the sales list. I emailed them and they said they sent instructions. Their instructions consisted of 3 words "Take off cover". That didn't help me tell which light was which. Finally they sent pictures and labels of 3 of the lights they sent and from the pictures I was able to determine what lights went where and it helped me determine which light was missing....I couldn't tell them what light was missing (rear dome light) until I determined which lights they sent... Additionally, the light they sent for the trunk area does not fit my Prius. I suspect it would be the same size for the missing back dome light, and if so, that wont' fit either. I have emailed and asked for lights for those two areas of less than 31 mm. I have since become aware than I need a 29mm light - so they are sending the spring loaded collapsable lights (28mm - 43mm) and that should work. The Good seller, just be patient when dealing with them if there is a problem. They are very responsive to your emails.

 

This was the perfect set, and a good deal! My interior is super bright, and my wife's friends are slightly annoyed! hahah

Anyways, this set is perfect, the only things missing are the license plate lights, which were $1 on ebay as well. But this was the best deal I could find.

Do they still manage the "Theater effect" ? Slowly dimming?

 

I have similar LEDS to ones from the ebay link above your post.. and they still dim/fade to black when turning off.

BTW- did you get your 50 watt HID's yet?

 

YES !! ....these will go in on Sunday, I had to order the relay kit too. I was short on parts.
Seems that October is "Prius lighting upgrade month".
