    Have you made any more progress? I would like to see where this is going. I have 2 sa-8 in fiberglass enclosures behind the wheel wells. I threw them in a junk particle board "sealed" box and they sounded louder. I'm in the process of designing a ported box but don't want to give up all my boot space either.

    So how or is it possible to load anything in back? How do you protect the subs and still have any functionality?

    Hey what's up well I wasn't really thinking when I came up with this design lol loading stuff is a pain but dam does it sound good. I will be re building the box the floor will consist of amps with plexi glass on top, the subs will be move behind the seat almost to create an L shape box

    is it worth it? to upgrade the head unit or you think i could run 2 amps 1 2channel amp 300w rms and 1500w rms for my sub and new front speakers with a upgraded 12v or do i need 2? thanks in advance

    I think one battery should be more than sufficient. I'm running a mono channel and a 4 channel. As far as head unit def get aftermarket.

    Big charging load the Inverter was not designed to handle. And that ain't no $200 200 amp alternator. Inverters are very expensive. Hope your maintaining the Inverter coolant.

    Mpg will get hammered and they are 2 different manufacturer batteries so one will have a difference in life and impedance so one will always be charging and the other supplying when the car is sitting. Its a good idea to install a battery tender in your set up and always be tending when you park the car for the night.

    I would at least put a 100 amp fuse between your parallel batteries so if one gets a shorted cell you at least won't have a cabin fire.

    Based on reports here by posters with bad 12 volts quite a bit. Maybe now running at 35-40 mpg's. Whats the consumption meter say?
    I use bad 12 volt as an example because you now have twice the charging load on the Inverter. But will be interesting to see how the Inverter likes that.

    So after your install nothing has gone wrong it drives and operates jsut like you got it before you put in all the stuff? and did you do the wire all yourself or had some one professional install it?

    Had it professionally done I did add a fuse between the two. As far as mpg I didn't suffer anything and I have 17's on mine also. Just went on a road trip to midland Texas got roughly 41-45 mpg all the way. Which for my driving is good lol

    Now I'm not saying the other guy is wrong, but as far as my experience doing this build have been real good. I also upgraded all my grounds to 0 gauge

    I had the same issue...thought it was my 12v...but later found out 2-3 tanks later, it was just bad batch of gas.

    41-45 is not bad considering very big 12 v charging load with the amp pounding and 2 somewhat dissimilar batteries in parallel. Most stereo peeps running 2 batteries upgrade to a 200 amp or more alternator. You of course cannot do that.

    Do the MFD 12 volt diagnostic and see what the charging voltage is in ignition:
    Weird stuff happening? MPGs dropping? Test The Battery | PriusChat


    Time will tell. Since your into electronics I would monitor the Inverter temp though to see how unhappy its getting. Go to home Depot or eBay and buy an IR Thermometer and measure the inverter Coolant reservoir and Invert case.
    There is a temp monitor in that circuit but its very poor. By the time it throws an overheat DTC its way past overheat. And then the INverter crowbars and shuts off. Same symptoms as a failed Inverter coolant pump.

    My point is you will never know how hot the Inverter is getting unless you do my test. And I'm curious also.

    Should be around 100F with a heat soak after shut down of about 130F.

    As in the battery ground (easy) and inverterground (I'm not touching that :ROFLMAO: )?
