Hey all, sorry for the n00b question, but ive never been much for aftermarket wheels, usually buying gently used factory wheels that were a match already for a vehicle.

Anyway, i thik i am going to get a set of 16" wheels and some Michelin Defenders from Costco during the current coupon. My 2010 isn't lowered or modified at all and is currently running oem 15" wheels which i will throw snow tires on this winter.

Looking at TireRack for wheels, seems tgat there are a variety of offsets listed when i search for wheels based on make model. How do i know which is the best fit? Looking to maximize performance and fuel economy while cutting down on road noise.

Thanks in advance for any assistance. Also, if there is a better place to get wheels let me know! ;-)

Are you sure Costco will install non OEM size wheels and tires? Mine won't due to potential liability.

They wouldn't install tires on my previous vehicle even though I had gone to a plus one size that came from the manufacturer on a higher trim level. They clearly stated that they only install sizes that come from the factory.

    You want a 16x6 or 16x7 with a +38 to +48 offset.

    The tire should 205/55/16.

In that size I would recommend the Ecopia EP422 for best mpg, the PureContact for handling and wet traction, the Turanza Serenity Plus for an all around good tire. I don't think the Defender is the best choice in that size range but its not bad. Just make sure you get the lowest speed rating in any of the tires because the ones listed above have 2 speed ratings in each size. I.e. get the T rated tire if available, then the H then the V in that order.

F8L, I'm still contemplating wider, lighter wheels (Enkei RPF1 15x7) for my C, for better handling, & Defenders in 15X195-60, also for better handling & also for ride & quiet (I now have the OEM Turanzas). Do your recommendations above still apply in this size range & purpose, and how much would Defenders lose in gas mileage?

    Thanks.

You should buy OEM 17" Wheels. My dealer is taking them off of my 2013 Persona next week when I install my new TRD Plus Package. PM me if you're interested!

For a 195/60/15 on your c I would go for the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus over the Defender assuming you don't mind a mpg hit for better comfort and handling. The Defender may be slightly better than the Serenity Plus in terms of mpg but I bet they are close and the Serenity Plus is cheaper (assuming you get the $70 rebate on either brand) and tested very well with TireRack. Check Discount Tire and TireRack for wheel and tire deals. They have a much larger selection than Costco.

    Idaho... Heh

I'd love to take EM off ur hands, but the shipping alone would probably blow my budget from Florida.
