I'm not by it but it has the 5 min mpg average I believe and power distribution. In set up you can change which doors unlock when keyless is activated and things like that. I can't remember all of it till I'm in the car.

Hello, hope you're still monitoring this thread. I am doing the installation now, and have questions. I was wondering if you have the same issue as I have. There were 4 plugs that went into the original standard radio. There are 4 plugs on the Alpine Perfect Fit wiring harness. One does not match up with the Toyota plug.

Did you leave it unplugged, or did yours all 4 fit together? (BTW, I also purchased a PAC TR7 Module to make the brake hook-ups easier.)

Did you hook up a rear camera, and were there any Toyota pre wired wires you used?

    Thanks.

The Perfect Fit system come with a module that allows you to keep your steering wheel controls.

Currently, I'm taking apart the interior trim to run all the wires needed to the external mic, and the rear camera. Alpine has a promotion for a free camera with the purchase of the radio. But video cable from the front to the rear is not included.

If you've never done this before, there are a few YouTube videos showing how everything comes apart. The only issue I have right now, is if I got the correct wiring harness, because one plug does not match the Toyota plug. It may be for an auxiliary thing that doesn't need to be hooked up, so I'm hoping the original poster replies here.

Well, so far I had to trim the metal and guide holes just a hair on the mounting brackets that came with the Perfect Fit system because the radio was off a little to the left and up. This interfered with the front panel opening and closing. Now it's centered and it looks and works great. I still have to connect the brake wires for the GPS and DVD to function correctly, but it does tell me where I am at the moment. The rear camera has to wait until I get a video cable run from the rear.

I suspect the plug that doesn't fit on my harness goes to the steering wheel controls because they do not work right now. I do have the steering wheel control adapter hooked up to the radio, so it must not be out-putting a signal to the steering wheel buttons.

I also have no idea where to hook up the speed sensor, or why it is even needed. Any help would be appreciated.

Installed a custom system in my 2010 II frodoz Stereo Upgrade | PriusChat and may be interested in this HU. Can you confirm the surround/bezel provided by Alpine matches color and texture for this vehicle as stated on their website. While planning before, I found the "Metro" and other aftermarket piece to be sub-standard painted matte finish items. This is why I used the "European" Toyota piece then.

Well, I'm slowly answering my own questions. The plugs from the radio to the steering wheel controls are different for the 2010-11 and the 2012 and up Prius. So I have the wrong wiring harness.

After I get the correct one, I'll hook up the rear camera, and brake controls. Only the speed sensor wire is left. Can anyone help me with that?

I had the same issue with regard to the speed sensor. I can tell you that it is not required. My system is fully functional without it hooked up. I'm not sure why Alpine includes the speed sensor wire and neither is our local Alpine dealer. The unit gets your speed from the GPS system. It may be there just in case the GPS doesn't have a lock, but if that is the case why do you even care what speed you are going.

Thanks. I was wondering, since my GPS does work correctly, AND even told me what the speed limit was, where I was driving. I guess it noticed I was going 5 mph more than I should have been going. ;)

I see you have the Prius III with the JBL system. Did you have to install an extra converter for the JBL amp to work with the Alpine head unit?

The person who started this page has not responded to my questions, so I don't think he is monitoring it anymore. However, I do know that if you order this HU and the Perfect Fit package, they will ask you if your car is JBL equipped or not, and give you the appropriate kit.
