Volume knob pushed in

    At some point I must have pushed the volume knob in too far, because it's now kind of recessed and harder to turn compared to the tuning knob on the right.

    I had wondered if I was just imagining this, and maybe it was always that way. Then a few weeks ago in Toronto my friend picked me up in a car share vehicle that also happened to be a C, and I realized the volume knob was normal whereas mine is not.

    Any chance I'll just be able to pop it back into place? Or should I just check with a dealer on warranty? This is on a Canadian base model, C2 equivalent.

    Can't hurt trying to pull it out. Worst case is u break it.......then have dealer fix under warranty.

    I noticed the same thing after my wife drove my C2 - she must have hated whatever was coming out of the radio and smashed the power button! Now I have to use the steering wheel controls to change the volume. Has anyone discovered a fix?

    Take to dealer?

    Pull out with fingers?

    Pull out with pliers which have been cushioned to not scratch button?

    Wrap your pliers with rubber bands. This maintains the grip, but eliminates the scratching.

    To follow up... At my 6-month service I asked the dealer to check the volume knob. They agreed to replace the whole radio (under warranty).

    I was not able to find a simple fix. I could pull the knob out with my fingertips, but it would just pop right back in. I didn't bother to remove the radio to investigate in any detail.

    Yeah they did a full replacement of the stereo on mine too.

    I had the same problem, just swapped the volume knob with the tunning knob since the tunning knob just needs to spin. The knob had been pushed in to hard and broke the teeth on the back.
