I have a 2011 Prius, but I want to know if the LED light on the P Shfit Button is also dimmed when you dim the interior lights between daytime and nighttime with Rheostat Dimmer in your 2012+ Prius. Also, is the parts# 84718-47061? I think it is different than 2010-2011 as #84718-47020.

    Thanks

It shouldn't affect the power button, it a safety feature of the vehicle operation.

He's trying to do creative things with the power to the Park button LED.

The OP sent me a PM. The OP was having problems in his circuit when the P button LED was dimmed at night, most likely due to reduced voltage from the dimmer circuit.

I advised him to use a relay in his circuit, where the power comes from somewhere else like the cigarette lighter/power outlet. The P button LED circuit then controls the relay's coil to provide switching only. The relay coil should be able to function even at the reduced power of the dimmed LED circuit.

The generic relay will be many times cheaper than an oem rheostat/dimmer.

OK, as my signature shows I own a 2012 PiP. I just went to the parking lot a try it.
    With the vehicle ON:
All position lights off, the dimmer didn't affect it at all
All position lights on, the dimmer attenuates the "P" symbol but not the "P" indicator dot.
