How's the C?

I purchased my Prius C 4 last year and love it. I mostly drive highway through the canyon and still get 53mpg. I work for Toyota as a Service Advisor and has nothing but good to say about the vehicle. I would suggest the 4 I love all the gadgets.

 

Test drive one and pay particular attention to the seat---many have complained about the lack of lumbar support and sore backs.

 

Don't let the low beams bother you. Simple fix. Mine had a cut off of about 75 yards til I raised them.
Spent lots of time visiting Eureka. Great place to hang out.

I like both my Prii.

Each is unique in its own way and serves a particular purpose. I was surprised at the drive, but I took an extensive test drive. You should give it a whirl.

I have a C1, wish I would have gotten a 4 at least a two as the headrests are not adjustable in the front on the 1, but the other half had to have that particular interior which is not on the upper models.

Like all Prii models, I don't think any of their seats have enough thigh support. I have long legs and so I always have issues with the seats falling too short where the leg bends.

My BMW had that section of the seat would extend outward.

I find that on long road trips in either Prii I have a problem but I've taken both cars to Vegas from CA which is a good 3-4 hour road trip and I have no back issues, etc but to each their own.

Get a good feel for the car.

 

Coming from a Jeep, the seats are AWESOME in my C I'm still trying to figure out how to "properly" drive it so I can get the best gas mileage possible.

 

I know what you mean. I would never go back to one of those. If anything I find the seats in my hybrid comfortably wider, but still hard on my back.

 

I was worried I was going to lose the roomy feel, but I haven't really noticed that it is smaller, It still feels roomy. Also, does anybody know how long I have SAT radio until I need to pay?

 

Mine was a 3-month trial back in June 2013.

I didn't renew after the trial expired, and recently they've been emailing me every week with a five months for $20 deal (which I haven't taken). You have to be very careful with their discount deals, though, as the fine print says they automatically renew at the full price (much higher!) at the end of the period if you don't specifically call and cancel.

 

Thanks for the info, ya'll are a wealth of information! I literally went from no options to nearly all options. All the fancy stuff can be overwhelming.

 

If you are replaceing a 15yr old car and this will be for around town, then I think you may love having a prius c, I bought my c for similar driving. I find that my c gets great mpg and I like the smallnes of it. I payed 20,400 with 0% for 5 years with no trade in. a few months after I got it I noticed some 1 yr old prius plug in cars selling for 23k made me think twice. but back to the c. go test drive take one on the type of driving you do. IMO if you load the c down with 4 people and some ex stuff and get on a road that you need to be able to get your car up to speed quickly the c is underpowerd. we dont use the c like that we have a hycam and it has plenty of power.

as mentioned above the dash on mine makes some squeaking rattleing type noise with certain driving conditions. but it is so much better than my neon or diesel rabbit that i replaced with this car.

 

We have two 2014 C's. Both are a LOT quieter then many reviews would have you believe. The cars run solid, quiet, no rattles. We are both getting better than the advertised MPG too. The price makes this car the very best value out there, and consider Toyota's legendary reliability, you'll not go wrong. Your only problem is choosing which model. We have a 1 and a 2.

 

yeah, read the Prissy report in Consumer Reports, too. and found near 100% disagreement with their 'noisy' downgrade of the Prissy. (Prius C, Prissy) and 'only' 43 mpg. I think they got a bad example; mine is quieter than my sedan by my audio meter and with no attempt whatsoever to maximize mpg I get 45 to 48 mpg winter an 448 to 50 in summer. as do the other two Prissys here. Go drive a Prius C and judge for yourself.
CR didn't rate the Prius C in the auto issue but did recommend the Sonic and Rio, both of whom I found very unacceptable for the same reasons CR downed the C. Their 'highs' are good and their 'lows' suspect. I've owned 170 cars in my life and I frankly recommend the Prissy highly. best small runabout 'gofer' car on the market

 

Have had my C for 6 weeks now and love it. I did a short review/write up in my intro thread. Take a good long test drive and judge for yourself. Regarding trim levels I like they provide 4 different to meet the price points and options so we can each decide what we would like to have. Enjoy your car hunting, it's a great car.
