I have been searching the forum for ideas, although helpful many threads appear to be older addressing this issue.

I am looking for low cost options to replace my battery. What I would like know is, who have people gotten replacement batteries from and cost? I live in Indiana. I have the ability to replace it out myself if needed.

    Any suggestions?? Thanks

...not the expert, but the lower cost options start with Dorman Hybrid battery, previously known as ReInvolt, then you can talk getting one from a wreck, or buy some cells on EBay and try to rebuilt it (takes time).

Go with the folks nh70 recommended. They are well known, and in your area.

Since you are in Indiana, Steve at Prius hybrids sales and service Scottsburg Indiana is a reliable, low-cost, independent Prius rebuilder in southern Indiana. He can supply a good HV battery at a reasonable cost.

if you can diy it, check with salvage yards and ebay for a low cost replacement.

Thanks , I have talked with Steve a few years back when I was looking for a Prius, I will give him a call in the morning.

I looked on Feebay, there are a few listed just didn't see anything that stood out deal wise. I will also call the Local yards tomorrow.

Gen3 modules will fit in a Gen2 battery, but you need to do the swap as the Gen3 battery is not directly compatible with a Gen2 Prius - too many changes.
