2014 C2 Keyed Ignition Problems

    Just got the c, only 1000 miles now. The car has done this twice, I insert the key and it won't turn. It just locks.

    Not sure what's causing it and I haven't exactly figured out how to fix it when it does happen

    have you tried wiggling the steering wheel? how about the spare?

    How will wiggling the spare tire help? :confused: :D

    Yes, maybe the steering wheel lock is engaged. While turning the key, try moving the steering wheel to the left or right.

    That did seem to fix it today, I wasn't sure why though.

    However, I thought when I wiggled the wheel, it caused the problem the first time .

    Turning the steering wheel with the ignition off will definitely engage the steering wheel locking mechanism. However, if the wheel lock is engaged, especially when parked on a grade, then sometimes you have to tug on the wheel a bit to get it to unlock while turning the key.

    thanks, I'll give it a try next time.

    I bet I bump the wheel (bottom of the wheel and my thigh rub) when I get in the car and engage the lock.
