I was driving on the highway, and suddenly my v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) lost power and all kind of lights start flashing on the dash. Could not start the car afterwords and had to have her towed to my local dealership. Anyone had similar experimence?

Yes, it sounds similar to an inverter or coolant pump failure.

If it's a coolant pump failure, it will most likely be drivable after sitting a while, after the inverter cools down. Also, you can check for coolant circulation/turbulence in the coolant reservoir when in Ready Mode.

If it's an inverter failure, it's more serious, but it is fully covered under warranty.

Have you had the MGU/inverter firmware recall done?

I don't remember. I had an oil change 2 weeks ago at a Toyota dealership and they said everything looked good and they never mentioned to me about an outstanding recall.

My car wouldn't go into ready mode when I try to start her.

I have 80K miles on the clock, inverter is still covered under warranty?

That's the best news I've had in the past week:)
Had 2 of my 3 cars broken down on me in the past 2 weeks.
