I can't seem to locate my ON/OFF setting in the Settings screen for my Blind Spot Monitoring System. I believe I accidentally canceled it. Any help in rectifying this situation is most appreciated. I am a first time Prius owner.

It is in the vehicle settings screen in the upper display of your Prius (not the one in the NAV screen).

I haven't played with that setting since getting the car, but when my vehicle was delivered to me the setting was OFF. I had to turn it ON in that screen.

Mine was on when I purchased the car. The Blind Spot Monitoring was under the Settings icon on the upper screen, controlled by the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel. Now when I go to settings the BSM doesn't appear anymore. I looked in the Owners Manual and it says when turning the BSM ON/OFF to be careful not to cancel it. Why is canceling even an option if you can turn it on or off???

Page 139. "Make sure not to cancel the systems accidentally." By "systems" it means the Blind Spot Monitor and the Pre-Collision System if equipped.

    KP4,

If others don't have a solution, take it back to the dealer.
It is still new, and under warranty.

I don't even want to try to press some buttons, and be in the same
    Situation!

Good luck, and let us know the solution.

    Kim,

When you get to the settings screen, the one with the clock, meter customization and vehicle settings on it, just scroll down with the down arrow button. You will see many more settings. Note that there is a windows style vertical scroll bar on the right side of the screen showing you that there are more screens. I think BSM on/off is on the second or third screen.

To clarify - do not enter vehicle settings, just scroll down (or up) from the main settings screen.

i think by 'make sure not to cancel accidentally', they mean not to shut it off and wonder why it's not working. which is probably what's going on here.

Do not fear, voerman is here. He posted what to do on here and was spot on. Made me feel a bit "DUH" as it is really easy to turn systems ON/OFF.

    Kim,

You are welcome. I went through the same thing when I first got my car! :-( One of the keys to navigating the Toyota menu system is noticing that vertical scroll bar on the right side of the screen.

That won't be my problem - "VEHICLE SETTINGS" has disappeared from my scroll list!! I'm back to the salesman (who is a mechanic too).

I read something on here about using the key fob to change which door(s) will open. Currently the drivers side door handle only unlocks the driver's side. The passenger side door opens all doors and hatch. Someone said you could use the fob to change which doors open. Since I live in the country, I would prefer to have the driver and passenger door handle open all doors and hatch. I guess I'll do a search for this info. Thanks again.

Yours seems to be the way it's done in USA - but mine is the opposite, driver's door unlocks all doors. And I'd like it the way yours is. It seems I need the dealer to change it. Mine only has unlock from driver's side too, but that's because it's our base model.

I've tried all the tricks, one of which is to unlock the car, then hold the unlock and lock buttons on the "fob" together for 6 seconds, and if it beeps, you've swapped it to the other mode. But it didn't do anything for mine, though - maybe I need to hold the "fob" upside down seeing I'm "downunder"?

This is pure conjecture, but Australia's driver's side is our passenger side. If you enable the option it might apply to your passenger side door.

If his basic model only comes with one-door SKS, then that door will understandably be the driver door regardless of which side of the car that is. The function only modifies the behavior of the driver door (whether it also unlocks other doors or not).

For cars with three-door SKS, the passenger and hatch door handle sensors always unlock all doors.

By default, if you hold the driver's door for 2 seconds after it unlocks the driver's door, it'll also open all doors. However, I found it clunky and it doesn't seem to work reliably.

Without fishing out the manual, are you able to hold both the LOCK and the PANIC button on the remote? If you hold them both simultaneously for a few seconds, it will change the lock sequence (based on the number of flashes of the red light on the key fob). The second option is "Global unlocking" which is the setting you want (there are 3 in total so if you want to revert to default, you'll have to perform this action twice more)

    Kim,

I have not tried the key fob thing. I used Carista to change those settings in my car.
