Had the same problem with my '07. Replaced the fan/motor located under the glove box. A few bolts or screws and it drops right out. If I remember, you can stick your hand in there and give it a push and it starts again. But, it will only get worse. Wish I could be more helpful, but it was a few years ago, and I no longer have a Gen II. Good luck!

I had the same issue and replaced the blower assembly. It took a screw driver, a replacement part, and about 25 minutes. I found the blower on Amazon (search for TYC 700153 Toyota Prius Replacement Blower Assembly) for $43.

I used the directions in the thread below. DIY!

My wife has been having a problem with her AC. At first it kicked on after driving for awhile. Now it doesn't work at all. The fan stopped working. The fuse is ok and after taking out the fan it tested fine. I checked and got nothing on the pigtail when testing the AC on low and med speed. I gut a weak signal on high. I figure it's the resister thats the problem. Can anyone tell me where the resister is located on a 2007 Toyota Prius and where I can get one at a reasonable price.......Thanks ......Bill

It should be item #4 in diagram.

Yes, I looked closer and saw it was the Control Module PriusPARTS: Part included in blower assembly... I also saw the prices are real high. The fan is like $100 on that site but I got one for $36 on Amazon.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply you should purchase there, just use diagram only. :)

Also, I mentioned above one connector, looking at the unit itself there is two connectors.

Your right there are two connectors. I wish I could see some burn mark someplace. I wonder if there's a way I could test this control Module.

Everything in your pictures look clean. Here is a pdf of wiring diagram for the vehicle. Page 351

The only place I see it under $160 is "Arm Auto Dismantler" on E Bay for $25. I wonder if it's worth a shot. These things could last 10 years or 10 minutes. The Prius is almost 10 yrs old.....
Is there a way to check if the control pad is working ok. I took out the Control Motor that had two connectors. One connector going in and one going out to the fan. Is there a way to check the incoming connector to see if the ac/heat control touch pad is working ok ???? Thxs

If you look at the diagram on page 350 it shows a HTR relay that is on the circuit with the AC fan and Control blower motor...Any ideas where this is located ???????????

Hi all, looks like this thread hasn't seen activity in a long time. I have a 2006 Prius and the central vents are not blowing air. Side vents fine, AC fine, fan/motor working. Just replaced my air filter 3 weeks ago was running fine until a couple days ago. I have run through all the settings 4 or 5 times to over ride a glitch with no luck. Advice appreciated.

Are the vents closed? There shouldn't be a reason the side vents work and the center vents don't work.

Or you have a family of critters stuck in the vent outlet

Checked vents, appear to be open. Rolled back and forth closed/open roller, not changing flow, there is nothing coming through even on high. Perhaps something im not seeing from the front end. I have not taken apart to look behind vents yet however have looked under air filter at fan appears fine ( obviously blowing through side vents). What could cause only the center vents to not have air but side ones to work? Any other thoughts?
