So my 2012 Prius c hybrid battery just died 221,000 miles I am getting a replacement and wanted to know if it is easy to replace and is there a reset process that the comp does it self or does the dealer have to reset it.

I think you might have the first case of a dead hybrid battery on a Prius C (at least as far as I've seen). I'm curious to see how much Toyota quotes for the C's replacement battery since it's smaller than the Liftback's.

You may have the highest miles on a C as well! :)

Just wonder if it's used for business, are they gonna reject the warranty?

221,000 miles is way beyond the warranty mileage limit.

I though battery is warrantied up to 8 year, not mileage. Am I wrong?

'Yes. 8 yr or 100k miles whichever comes first. CARB states get a longer 10yr/150k mile warranty but he's even way past that too.

First reported Prius c hybrid battery failure on PriusChat. Pretty impressive mileage (over 350,000km).

    Keep us posted!

We were quoted Cdn$3,000 (incl. labour and taxes) for a new hybrid battery for a 2005 Prius. (only 153,000 miles though).

The Prius C does NOT qualify for the CARB 10yr/150k mile warranty.

    Sorry to hear the new

This is another situation that only makes it the "How long will the battery last?" Question even more unable to answer. I say that because my sister and best friend both have Prii with over 200,000 miles, one was built in 2004, the other a 2008. They are still on the original battery's. I had a 2005 I drove till 240,000 miles till I replaced the pack due to low capacity. It almost seems like random luck! A lot of 2006 Prii battery's have been biting the dust very often, it seems some last forever, and some go well before 8 years and 200,000.

I guess it's impossible! So let's all enjoy our cars and try to keep that battery cool!

Speaking of cool... did you run your AC all summer in this car?

Not to be rude, but your back seat area does not look to be very clean, do carry pets in the back? Could the fan be clogged with pet hair?

Well I am glad to see that you fixed it the smart way. How does the engine run with that many miles, any oil use?

Looking at the 2012 Prius C Warranty and Maintenance Guide. There is no mention of the 10yr/150k mile California hybrid warranty:
    http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/omms-s/T-MMS-12PriusC/pdf/2012_Toyota_Prius_C_WMG.pdf

Compare that to the 2012 Prius Warranty and Maintenance Guide which specifically mentions the 10yr/150k mile California hybrid warranty:
    http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/omms-s/T-MMS-12Prius/pdf/2012_Toyota_Prius_WMG.pdf

    Congrats! Great video!

If you want to sell in California and other CARB states, it's up to CARB not Toyota to mandate the PZEV warranty.

    https://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/warranty.pdf

    Here's a list of PZEV's including the Prius C: Category:partial zero-emissions vehicles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
