    I have the same problem with "content blocker" and ad blockers. try disabling them both then the pictures should show up.
    On iOS safari, you can touch and hold the reload arrow-circle and then click on reload without content blocker.

    The morning sunshine on the Firebrid this morning.

    I took a vacation day today (Friday) and spent most of the day working on the car. The cut-out for the right a/c vent is made, and the opening for the speedometer has been raised to clear the left a/c duct. Sadly my 30+ year old scroll saw broke while working on the left a/c vent cut-out. Replacement parts are not available, so I'll be making a purchase of a new one soon.

    Then I got out the air cut-off tool and started to work on the right front fender. Things will work out nicely when I purchase the extra front fenders in the spring to splice into these. Right now it reminds me of a slide trombone.

    "WEN Model 531-Type1 Scroll Saw" written on the side of the saw. You may call it what you like, but it is so old that WEN doesn't even list it in their replacement parts section of their website. Hits on eBay call it "vintage". It is so old that the 2-prong electric plug doesn't even have one prong wider than the other.

    Actually, two OER replacement fenders (made from the original dies) will be purchased, and the filler panels will actually come off of these two fenders. That way I minimize the body rot that needs to be repaired. These two are just stand-ins to make sure everything aligns properly.

    Oh okay. When you said scroll saw I was trying to visualize how you could use this tool pictured below to cut the AC vents on the dash. If you want to cut custom flat objects freehand with great control, scroll saw would be it.

    If you are buying a new jigsaw be aware! Many modern jigsaw models have very poor "shoe" locking mechanisms. My Ryobi model was impossible to cut perpendicular to my surface and messed up manyy cuts. Eventually got a dewalt which works well.

    Interesting. Your definition of Scroll Saw and Jig Saw are exactly opposite mine. Maybe somewhere along the way the two terms were swapped by the saw manufacturers. To me, your photo is a bench-top Jig Saw. My saw shown below is a specialized saw that has a feature where you can rotate the direction of the blade while you are cutting. Alas, I now also see online that the term Sabre Saw is used for a Sawz-all, which I have always known as a Cut-off Saw. This is all making me feel old and out of touch, since I always knew a Sabre Saw as the version of my saw in the photo that didn't have the turnable blade feature.

    From the label in your photo below, it seems to be new enough to be "DOUBLE INSULATED", in which case it may have been new enough that polarized plugs existed, but exempt from needing one.

    I spy a tardis. Is that from the seventies too? ;) Any chance you incorporate that into the firebrid? Actually many posts ago I recall reading you will use the tardis whoosh as the low speed pedestrian warning sound.

    I think sawz-all, cutoff saw, reciprocating saw are interchangeable terms. Never heard the term saber saw. But my reference point is woodworking, not metalworking. Although I did work a bit in a metal shop but that was in milling machines and lathes.

    My ryobi saw had that rotating blade feature too. The problem was that the blade would rotate on its own anytime I hit a hard knot in the wood because that locking mechanism did not tighten well either.

    Love this post. Having never done major body work I wasn't able to visualize the steps you are going to need to do when extending the fenders. Now it all makes sense :)

    Sorry to disappoint you. It will have the smooth 326 hood (no scoops) only made longer to fit. No hood tach either, since the engine won't even be running half of the time.
