So I've been driving my Prius Prime Advanced for about less than a week now and have logged about 350 miles.

    1) even from the beginning the USB connection keeps disconnecting off and on. I've tried multiple phones and even a brand new Apple cable with my iPhone

    2) while driving in bumper to bumper traffic stuck suddenly the entire dashboard went dead and restarted itself.

    3) suddenly one time when driving my satellite radio was not able to be selected under sources. Only AM/FM Bluetooth, etc.
With a restart of the car that issue resolved.

    More to come I suspect.

Lots of little software gremlins here and I'll be taking it into the service center soon.

    Anyone else had issues?

2016 (first year for Gen4) just got top pick for Consumer Reports reliability.

I've had my Prius Prime Premium for just over a week and logged in about 850 miles (yes, I drive a lot). Have not experienced any problems like the ones you describe.

No problems with mine. I've had it since mid-November and now have over 1,000 miles. Includes daily commute, one Vegas roadtrip, and a trip into the Angeles National Forest.

tough to be objective about 2016 reliability. some people are having problems, that goes hand in hand with first year, new gen.

What is there to be afraid of? Prime will be my 5th Prius purchased shortly after that generation's rollout. No issues. Totally worth buying right away.

Will take mine in when I have time. The big touch screen software reset randomly again twice on my drive home and that USB plug keeps connecting and disconnecting on me over and over.

Must be a bad connector or more somewhere.

Just seeing if any others had same or similar experience.

I have the same problem with the USB buzzing and not charging. I just got my old 12v usb plug and use that no problem. I bought a Qi charger case but the front edge of the case sat below the screen offering no protection and it seemed that my cell connection was slowed down considerably. Not sure if there's a connection, but I returned the case.
I love my Prime Advanced but there is a lot of tech for me to get used to (had a 2005) that I don't totally trust yet. And I'd say that Toyota ain't no Apple (Carplay where are you?????). Software design is grossly un-intuitive so it's not obvious where anything is.
Are you supposed to be able to get iPhone messages? I saw a setting for messages but can't figure out who what where when how why...
And Siri...errrr...the mobile assistant can NEVER recognized anything I say :(

I am not having usb plug issues however I am having calling through steering wheel issues. My calls will connect but I cannot hear call audio through the car speakers. I have an iPhone 7. I have taken the car in and they have tried all manner of things, they have contacted cooperate and have started a case to see what can be done.
Apparently Toyota has not tested this new system with the new iPhones.

Apple may not be following the newest standard. After all, iPhone is less than 10% of the market now. They don't offer wireless charging yet.

I have an old LG flip phone that I tried to connect to the car via bluetooth. This worked fine with my Prius C. In the Prime, however, the car connection causes my phone to constantly turn on and off. Had a friend connect to the car with his smart phone and he had no issues. I am going to move up to a smart phone now mainly so I can get the various apps that relate to the car.

Purely anecdotal but my wife's old iPhone 4 will not Bluetooth properly to any of my devices. I.'ve also been unable to Bluetooth connect to my father in law's iPad from my LG G4. That is, it may claim to be paired but then won't transfer data or audio.

Worth trying a non Apple phone with your car? Not much use to you if your phone is the problem but at least you'd have a diagnosis.

I've had the Prime for about 2 weeks now and have driven about 700 miles. I've had the console dashboard system reset on me at least 3 times. Once happened on its own, twice happened as I was switching between music modes. I'm keeping an eye on it. This frequency doesn't freak me out quite yet but if it gets any worse I'm taking it in.

My plus version has no issue. I like it so much after 300 miles of driving. I have iPhone6s and also iPhone 5 working in my 2014 as well as my new prime without any issue connecting Bluetooth or any nav at all.

Apple just released the new iOS 10.2 that addresses some Bluetooth connectivity issues. You can consider upgrading and see if that helps.
