Just got the recall done this morning. 9 AM appointment at the dealer and done by 9:45:).

Just enough time to take the Red Prius Prime Advanced that they got in yesterday for a 15 minute drive;). Unfortunately the battery was depleted by a previous test drive so didn't get to give the battery a work out.

Looks like a great car other than cargo space and some Star Wars storm trooper white accent trim in the cabin:(.

Finally got work done. Found this bolt on the rear carpet when I got home. Any idea where this bolt came from?

Do you think it's a critical part?

Check out the procedure and look at the bolts in the photos.

It is probably the old bolt from one of your inflators. Does it have signs of old Loctite on the threads? The bracket kit comes with new bolts. If that's one of the old ones, no problem, just discard it.

If it looks brand new (never Loctited), then they might have reused one of your old ones by mistake, which they're not s'posed to do....

Thanks for the reply. Went back to the dealer and they confirmed it was the old bolt.

It does look a bit rounded, so I doubt it's a new bolt.

I had mine done yesterday also, the dealer I took it to (Melody Toyota) had my Prius a whole day. I got the car back and inspect all the trims pieces...I do not see signs of being removal at all!!!

The only thing I am puzzle is I hope the side curtain airbags function properly after they retrofit the brackets in it (fingers crossed).

Same here... couldn't tell if any trims were removed. Also they did not disconnect the battery.

According to my mail today, while I had the car in for this recall, they also apparently jotted down my XM radio ID and lined it up for two months' free trial.

For me at least the XM free trials only serve to remind me why we dropped it after a year subscription. Maybe up here the signal coming in at more of a slant is a factor: driving beside buildings, hills, trees, we got a lot of drop outs. I start think of XM as the sing-along station: the music would cut out and you had to fill the gaps yourself. Not that enamoured of the content anyway.

Plus, I was really glad I'd switched to a new credit card number, those guys are really persistent, ignore express instruction to not auto-renew, and so on. Your best bet is to use a temporary number if you do take the plunge.

This seems to be an actual free free trial—there was no box for a credit card number to sign up. After two months they'll ask if I want to continue. Which I probably won't, but the timing works out, because I have a couple upcoming road trips where the traffic colors on the map might be handy.

...and it seemed, when I checked out the pricing yesterday, that the traffic colors are an additional few dollars a month on top of the radio programming (which sounds echoey to me, and tends to drop out in town).

Finally got mine done. My dealer said it would be a four month wait at least. Under 3 weeks at another dealer so I went there.
