What you may be missing is that there's nothing wrong with "the damn thing". It may be a service problem with Toyota.

    Thanks!

I've always enjoyed visiting Canada; our last trip through Desolation Sound was fantastic.

If I did that, I wouldn't see my Prime for several weeks at best.

Sometimes the great Cogs of Justice need a little dab of grease, and sometime they need a cattle prod.

I've yet to discover the Sunshine Coast. It's on my list of places to visit soon.

East coast in this case seems Southeast Toyota, and they really don't want to stock Primes, so they would definitely be my *prime* suspect.

I sure hope this gets resolved before my Prime gets here.

As somebody stated in the other thread, it may be a vehicle ID problem.
See Communication module inop | PriusChat
IMHO that would make the most sense. A group of vehicle IDs got expired. The ID range may not align with serial number range though.

My point exactly. They OWE you a fix and part of that is a loaner while it is being fixed.

They HATE having one of their sell-able cars out on loan and that often speeds up the process quite a bit.

Just got a call back from Toyota Case Mgr, and it's going to take a few days to check all this out.

But apparently the Tech Support Line is directly attached to Southeast Toyota Distributors, and apparently they are unable to support, and still do not sell, Primes.

I now have a call into the dealer owner.

Toyota should have required this privately owned distributor to carry or at least support the Prime, IMHO. Toyota controls the distributor licensing.

    Item next;

Spoke to another dealer near me, and service manager says they are experienced in opening Tech Cases and working with Toyota Tech Line to diagnose problems.

Bottom line seems to be that all dealer service departments are NOT created equal.

Have conveyed experience that Badasset had to service manager, and they will take into account.

    I bought from Marietta Toyota.

However, I went ahead and made appt with Nalley Toyota of Roswell who took care of my Pip and assure me they have experience in opening new cases with Toyota Tech and working with California HQ on resolving quirky issues. I've informed them of Badasset's experience also.

Dropping off car tomorrow, will advise.
