Took my car in yesterday to get tinted and now the engine light is on. I had a few warning yesterday on the info board but went away after turning the car on and off 3 times. They had to jump start the car to get it started. Im bringing it to dealer this afternoon to see what code is reading..

Speculation, it sounds like the 12V was run down during the tinting.

Interesting; did they run the radio? Were the interior lights on for several hours?
Mine got done in a couple of hours; no problems.

So I got it checked out at my local dealer during lunch, tech told me to just run it on normal mode and turn of EV mode so the 12V battery will recharge. Low and behold just before I entered the parking structure at my work the engine light turned off. Yes, I did think the tint shop run down the 12V battery. It took them almost 6 hours to complete the tint job, I had them put 70% crystalline all around including the windshield except for the small piece of glass by the side mirror, I had them put limo tint to match that area..

Can't remember who but this has happened before. Some tinting companies don't understand the workings of Prii or the Prime. They don't realize they are draining the battery. Seems a little forward to use the radio without asking.

Yea that was me that it happened to before...tech ran down the 12 volt when tinting, same warnings. It all went away on it's own and turned out OK in the end with no residual problems.:)

My engine light came on a few days ago. Dealer set-up an 8/3rd appointment for me at purchase, but i couldn't make it. Is it related to the initial service schedule? I have less than 2000 miles on my Prime, mostly EV mode. Thanks.

It's not related to the service schedule, but something wrong. It can be something minor, like the low 12 volt battery above or just a loose gas cap, or the beginnings of something major. Best to have the dealer look at it while under warranty.
