My Prime has over 5000 miles... the question is that when I started charging the battery on a normal circuit, the charge once reached 30%. Since then it has dropped until yesterday it hit just over a 20% charge. Is anyone else experiencing this decreasing charge or have any ideas on why this happened. Thank you....

Sorry, you are right... it is not showing percentage... it is showing mileage and has progressively diminished from as high as 30 mpg (which it only hit once) down to now just over 20 mpg.

It all depends on how fast you were going after you first charged it. The faster you go the less estimated charge next time around. I went on a trip out west from Michigan and charged at every motel every night then I would accelerate up to about 76 MPH on the freeway which diminished my EV in about 14 miles. The next day my estimated EV range went down to 22 miles from a high of 36 miles before this trip. with winter coming EV range will also diminish with cold weather kicking in.

prime uses past history, and some odd programming to determine how many miles of ev you have every time you charge.
an easy test is to charge it up, and drive backroads with the a/c off. 30 mph roads without too many stops will net you maximum ev miles for that type of driving.
then, a/c and acceleration and speed and stop and go will help you understand why you get less.
remember, it's just an estimate, and the best check is actually driving in ev until the ice comes on, then seeing how many miles you went.

By the way... It is only an estimate ... charged is charged... you get as many miles as your driving style and AC usage allows.. I think the better thing to look at is miles per kwh in the drive monitor... That is a measure of how well you are doing in stretching ev miles. If you want more actual miles driven per charge look in to ways to improve that number... like less AC demand, and driving for high scores.

where can I find the miles per kwh? I just picked up my new 2022 on Saturday and tried charging last night. It tripped the gfci after about an hour. So....I switched to the other plug and tried again. It seemed to finish but I didn't get a message other than the lid was open. Is that normal?

The miles/kWh is in the Daily Eco Diary as shown in the photo below.

Your GFCI may have tripped due to a bad receptacle contact. If you started the car at that point, then you should have seen the warning that says "Charging Stopped" or something similar on the MID.

But since you reconnected to a good receptacle and completed the charge, it would not show that error message after the completion. If your lid was not open, then it should have said something like "Charging Complete" on the MID.
