So tonite on my way home I noticed the dash vent just right of the 11" screen isn't generating any AC. The vent is wide open. The other three dash vents are fine. I'm wondering if the flap inside the dash that opens and closes based on upper / lower and both is stuck. Not exactly what I had in mind for the first week of ownership. I certainly am NOT looking forward to having the dealer pull my dashboard.....

So far I'm 100% certain the vent is wide open, and I've altered between upper and lower settings back and forth to see if maybe that would trigger opening the upper vent. No air comes out. Anyone with any thoughts.....?

DUDE!!! Prime Surprise! This car turns off that center, passenger-side vent when you press the Eco button on the lower left of your Climate Controls!
Just deselect that button, and my friend you'll have FULL A/C. The left one puts you on Eco, and the other on kills A/C to the rear of the car, all for better fuel economy! The Eco button only turns off that center passenger vent, if no one is sitting there. I played with it again today 'cause it was super hot in Riverside today!
    Good luck!!

    ^^^^^ He shoots.....HE SCORES...!!!!!!!

Wow - many thanks HPA...!!! The funny thing is that I've played with that setting before but I'm still in that "early-learner's" mode of learning what to check when something isn't right. FWIW, I am absolutely loving this car. I'm averaging 70mpge on my first tank since driving her back home from NJ. The EV only mode started at initial purchase at 21.5 miles, but I'm now starting off each morning post-charge at around 28. Anyway...many thanks for chiming in so quickly.....I will definitely sleep well tonite.....!

Mr. Lou, it takes a few seconds for the setting to take effect, but it just shows how Cool (bad pun!) this car is!! Enjoy!

How does the car turn off the rear A/C? I am unable to find the vents that get shut off.

The vents should be under the front seats, pointing backwards

I was very surprised when I discovered this feature. Thought there might be a problem, then I read the manual

If you are in ECO drive mode, aren't you always in ECO climate mode? I thought that the ECO climate option in the Climate Control screen just allowed you to control ECO Climate mode when using Normal and Power drive modes. In my 2012 PiP, the ECO climate mode was used only in ECO drive mode, with no option to set it in Normal and Power modes.

On my PiP, the ECO drive mode also lowered the target coolant temperature; I don't know if they kept that on the Prime.

Haven't read that far in manual! I was under the impression that ECO drive mode dealt with reducing compressor operation, as well not letting car heating run as soon, and of course changing car's performance parameters to maximize fuel economy .

    No.

Eco drive mode defaults to Eco HVAC mode, but you can change it either way in any drive mode.

Considering Prime Advance but test drove one in Dallas Tex and it was hot and the A/c seem to not be adequate. What is your experience?

According to others here., you probably had the climate control in Eco mode. That mode sacrifices some creature comforts for an increase in economy.

Prime has two modes for that - Eco and S-Flow. I find it's fine with both on most of the time, when I'm alone in the car or with one person in the front. However, if it's especially hot or with more people in the car, I'll progressively shut them off - first S-Flow if there are more people and then Eco. With both off, the A/C is amazingly powerful.

104° for 7 hours in direct sunlight; Advanced with Softek and added medium window tint; fired up A/C and was comfortable in about 3 minutes and I HATE heat!! The car has fantastic A/C, but turn off the ECO and other limitations as stated in this forum to maximize cooling.

some talk of glare on 11 inch monitor and I did see some on test drive. What is your opinion as to amount of glare and can a piece of window tint be put over the monitor?
