Does it matter where the dark grey "earth screw" for my 2005 Prius hv battery is installed? If so, what is the correct location for the earth bolt? I recently installed a new battery and forgot which hole the earth bolt was located in.

    Thanks,

    Doug

Have not heard the term "dark gray earth screw" concerning the hv battery ever mentioned on this site before. The battery itself is not commoned to the car chassis just the case. The battery is isolated from car.
In the future use your smart phone and take pictures of everything you see at every stage.

All the mounting bolts to the battery are the same, except for that 1 gray "earth" bolt. It would be confusing for a first timer when taking the battery apart.

These are all case bolts that bolt the case to the car?

I think I remember one bolt the one thats used to secure the cover for the relays to the floor of the car that has a different colored bolt.

Btw, JC how difficult is it to take the cover off the battery case without taking it out of the car? Can you get to all the bolt heads or does the whole box have to come out to get the cover off? Thanks.

It's very easy to take the cover off, 2 bolts on 1 side, 2 nuts on the other. Then 3 more bolts on the side holding the ecu compartment. All 10mm. Then use a 12mm to remove all the case mounting bolts

You might want to remove the rear seats for easier access.

Thanks for the location of the grey ground screw. I will move it to the original location.
