Thanks for the suggestion, but now that mine is back to normal I don't want to turn that off. I have this nice app that reads text messages to me through the car's speaker system. I need Bluetooth to have text access for it to work.

    The solution comes from SID000.
She found it at an android forum.

Thanks to Dr. Berkes Attila. I Simply turned off text messaging in bluetooth settings for car multi media on my phone, and It works like a charm! No more Bluetooth shutdowns

I am so glad I found this thread. This started happening to me yesterday, and I never would have thought that my phone would be the one causing the problem. I can understand a phone issue causing a bluetooth connection to be dropped, but I still can't understand how a phone can cause the car to essentially shut down its bluetooth connection, to such a point where you can't even start it up again without restarting the car!

Nonetheless, once i stumbled on this thread, I realized that I had enabled the Samsung email app on my phone the day before (it's a Samsung S7). At first I tried changing the email app's permission, so that it couldn't update system settings, but that didn't help. So I uninstalled it (I don't think the uninstall process deleted it since it's one of those native Samsung apps that came with the phone). And that fixed the problem, and my bluetooth stays on.

I found this forum when I had this issue with my new Samsung Note Ultra. I just added the phone and 2 days later I noticed that it wasn't connected while driving. When I reached my destination I noticed that bluetooth was turned off and I couldn't access it. After turning off and on the car, I realized that it turned off after about a minute. I found this post off of google and tried a couple things.

I deleted netflix and the phone from car and vice versa. When I reconnected, I chose it to not accept text messages. That seemed to work. I have since reloaded Netflix yesterday and it still seems okay.

I thought I would update this forum since this phone just came out and it was very helpful to me.

    Thanks for the info!

This really help, it solved my problem. I thought that I have problem with the hardware, then I tried not connecting my phone bluetooth. My Prius bluetooth is stayed on for 30 minutes. So I know it is software problem. By not allowing text messages, bluetooth is working perfectly.

Like my own radio, gunfam's profile would indicate that his C has the 6" touch screen system used in the trim levels 3 and 4 back in 2012 and 2013. That doesn't mean your issue might not be coming from the same source.
