I think that's what I said. Although I didn't say it ran rings since I never drove any older year Prius cars. It was someone else that commented that the gen4 handles poorly.

Can we install "regular" 17" tires on a touring? This would raise the ground clearance by a couple of inches, probably make for a quieter ride. But will they fit in the wheel wells, and work?

They're the same diameter/rolling circumference, wouldn't make any difference, in fact minimally smaller with 17"

    195/65/15 - diameter 635mm, rolling circum 1994mm
    215/45/17 - diameter 625mm, rolling circum 1963mm

No, I meant putting a 17" tire on my 17" rims. Not a touring tire, but the type used on a truck or SUV like a Highlander.

    That is a 17" tyre.

You'd need to put a high profile tyre - and that would mess up steering angles as well as your speedo, that's if it didn't foul the guards - something like one of these - with the 2nd, the speedometer would be 18% wrong.

I installed spring spacers on my 2012 Prius 4. Purchased at autozone $9 per kit , 2 kits needed.
Installed the 1 to 11/2 kit in rear and the 2 to 21/2 kit in front. This brought the car up 1 inch all around.
It now clears my drive way. Mileage was not affected. I recorded the same gas mileage over 2 tanks after installation,
no change. Slightly firmer feel on road.

A ladder on the roadway raised the ground clearance on one side of my car by the thickness of the plastic underside cover. I actually didn't notice it came off. So now when turning left out of my driveway I scrape. Returning and turning right, it does not.

I would love a small lift kit for my Gen 4. I want slight larger tires to give myself a bit more clearance to drive the trails out to some local hikes. Otherwise I will be looking into a Rav4 Hybrid or a Subaru Crosstrek. I checked into the Dazer site posted earlier and it appears that they have not started selling their spacer kit or body mods yet.

I was able to locate the website where they sell the Dazer Prius-X suspension kit. I'm looking into what it would take to get one and also what size tire/rim combo they are able to fit with the lift. Unfortunately the full suspension kit looks like its lands around $2,100 USD so that's a bit outside of my budget.

    Charles,

Can you link to the specific parts you bought, please? Looking on Autozone isn't helpful at the moment. (And if you could give more details on how you installed them, that would be awesome)
