For goodness sakes, please just buy this battery on Amazon. $162.00 plus you get 20% off right now. Around $130, you get a new battery and end your troubles.

Yeah your points about less than fresh battery could be. Bought from SaskBattery, initial charged and installed September 2015.

I've measured the car's background milliamperes. Around 18, with sporadic spikes to 40.

First morning after, it read 12.78 IIRC. It reads similar these days. Solar BA5 gives it a pass.

Nextime around I might try Canadian Tire's Motomaster, apparently rebadged Exide.

Just change it. They normally last 5 to 7 years, at best.

My wife and I both drive 2009 Priuses with over 150K on each, and we have changed our 12V batteries once each.

You should not let a Prius sit more than a week without driving it, unless you turn off the keyless entry system. Even then...

    Holmes: Watson!

    Dr. Watson: Yes, Sherlock.

Holmes: Watson, I think I've solved the mystery! The vehicles inability to be started or remain running is tied to the poor health of the 12 volt battery.

Watson: Brilliant Sherlock! But what do you think the OP should do?

Holmes: Well, Watson, they need to buy a new 12 volt battery.

Watson: But Sherlock? Why couldn't they try testing it, charging it, saying druid prayers over it, and hope it magically becomes viable?

Sherlock: Watson, you have a cluttered mind. Bring me my cocaine, my violin, and log me into Prius Chat!

    PS.
Seriously, this vehicle may have additional issues, BUT IMO if keeping the vehicle is the goal, the starting point is at least a new 12 volt battery.
It's an 8 year old Prius. That's probably the minimum investment needed.
