We've already seen reports here of a few Prius C batteries failing. The first one I recall was also a delivery driver from like Az or southern California (both hot like Miami) who had a lot of miles and was well past the 150k mile warranty. I believe he found and installed a used pack from another 2013.

This is first evidence I've seen of an auto parts store reader actually seeing a hybrid specific code. Hopefully this good news for hybrid owners if they are using more capable code readers now.

12.5 is NOT a good charging voltage.
Since the resting voltage of a fully charged AGM runs around 12.8, that indicates a slight discharge.
If that reading was taken when the car was actually ON and ready to drive......then you have a charging system problem.

Toyo Kings Used Auto Parts in Opa Locka (about 5 miles from you?) shows as having a 2014 Prius C battery available. 29k miles.

1-305-688-6200 No price listed but may be worth checking out.

Your voltages aren't horrible but wait for a professional opinion on that. You might also look into grid charging and see if that could be right for you and your situation.

Cleaning them is a good step. Although I use muriatic acid, the green Scotchbrite pads can sometimes work miracles, and are much easier to dispose of....... Loosening and re-torquing all the fasteners won't hurt either. I would also disconnect and inspect all the electrical plugs. Just be sure to fully "click" them back together afterward.

Looking better!! Don't forget, recommended torque value for those module fasteners is 48 INCH pounds. (3 ft lbs)

By the way those terminal plates are the ones that have the wires that go into the battery computer on the side, those plates were the most dirty.

Good job! Those ones you just mentioned are the ones I think cause some people to replace batteries that aren't necessarily bad.

I hope that's my case, well I put everything back together and the car turns on fine no error, but since the error message comes on randomly I guess now I have to drive it and see.

Did you torque the connections to the proper spec? Some people who just guessed at the torque have had issues later.

While you are in there check for corrosion on the pins of the voltage sensing wire connector at the ECU.
As well as at the crimp portions of the ring terminals.
