I am trying to download a version of Techstream to my Windows 10, 64 bit computer, so I may use my new VCX Nano to diagnose my car issue- won't start after 6 weeks sitting dormant.
The download goes well but keep running into registration and password requests. The VCX gives a registration # for version 12.00.127, but that version may not work with Win 10 at 64 bit?
Does anyone have answers and easy directions for computer dummies? Thx

Toyota Techstream software, registration information, and instructions are available by subscription to techinfo.toyota.com. It’s $55 for a two-day(※) Professional Diagnostic subscription, which also includes access, during that period, to the Toyota Technical Information System (TIS) library, including the repair manuals and electrical wiring diagrams for all Prius cars built for the U.S. market.

This information—also available elsewhere—is an essential part of using Techstream effectively to diagnose and repair problems: the software can show the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that are present, but for specific troubleshooting procedures for each DTC and information on using the data list, active test, and utility features of the software, you need to refer to the repair manual for your car.

Techstream definitely works with the Microsoft Windows 10 (x64) operating system. You also have to install the software for your vehicle interface module (VIM), and that software must provide the SAE J2534 interface that Techstream needs. I haven’t tried the VCX Nano VIM and can’t report on its compatibility, though.

(※) Subscriptions expire at midnight, Pacific Time, on the second calendar day, so you usually get more than 48 hours’ access.

Techstream has been compitible with 64 bit OSes for a while, so I don't think that is your problem.

However, the driver for VxDaig Nano (which is what I think you meant) is not a 64 bit driver, so you will need to go back the sellers of VxDaig and seek their support to load it on a 64-bit system.

The other option, find a cheap laptop on eBay or CL with Win 7 and follow the VxDaig Nano instructions and it will load right up.
Computer support via a forum is pretty difficult, especially if the recipient is not that tech savvy. I suggest you talk to a savvy friend or family member who can sit along side you and help you through your issues.

OK- Thanks for the info. and support. I think the systems are downloaded and ready. I did find a few problems that I fixed- one was eliminating the security and firewall blocks to the downloads and secondly the cut and paste of the main menu from my VIM into the Techstream bin folder was not completed.
I will be putting it to the test in a few moments and hopefully find some answers to my car problems.
    Thx

Yes, but only for the subscription period. The Techstream Lite kits, about which I’ve written before, include the MongoosePro MFC2 vehicle interface module and are sold with and without a one-year subscription.

Yes, but the key you can get as part of the subscription makes it operate only for the subscription term.

Most of us downloaded cheap version of Techstream+mini VCI cable from Amazon or EBay.
Is that option no longer available?

Just last nite I finally got around to loading the 64-bit version for an older laptop with Win10.
Had no probs, followed the instructions. Prior to this I was lugging an XP tower into the car when I wanted to use Techstream.

I had 12.xx.024 for a bit but it was minus several menus needed for better diagnostics:(.

The guy I share the Prolong setup with used the version 12 software on his 2007, so it’ll work on a Gen2 ;).

Reloaded 10.30.029 and it works well(y).

This link describes the installation process, possibly with link to the software.
How to install mini vci with Techstream v10 on 64bit computer | OBDexpress.co.uk Official Blog

I think the first requirement is that your miniVCI cable hardware is capable of 32 and 64 bit, I think some of the earlier cables may be 32-bit (XP) only. If capable of 64-bit, then they give you a small CD with some special files "XHorse" and it takes a little bravery to mess with your Registry etc.

Many people will not be able to follow the instructions to install the necessary cominents. No judgement here, it is just reality.
Which is why I up telling people to stick with using an XP laptop instead.

That would be great if you have an XP laptop (or desktop) available...it is definitely a much easier install. But going forward I presume that'll be harder to find. I thought the Win10 instructions were a little confusing but I worked thru it.

dragon-diagnostics-uk on Ebay. Buy the mini vci cable and you get a disk with a fully working v10 (less than £20)
I put it on an old laptop with xp. It's very easy to install and use.
I programmed two keys with it. There's even a vid on you tube showing how to do it.
