I need to identify the failure codes in my 2006 Prius.

two different OBDII tools have given two different results.

I need to get my TS 10.30,029 working so I know what is going on. I can not afford to fix guesses.

Please consider sending me a working key. My woftware ID is C264BEF4173882FD1379489718AFF006

    Respectfully,
    bil

So you have Techstream and the key isn’t working?

Did you try watching the video on how to swap the locations once you have it installed?

I have the same Techstream version and the software wasn’t connecting to our 2010. But watched the videos and copied and pasted the Techstream link in the program files and it now works:).

Give that a try and see if that works (y).

This is the video I used:

The 52 second mark shows the step that I missed initially to get it to work;).

    Good luck (y).

from reading the above, I get the feeling you believe I have a key. I don't. While I would have loved to have purchased the software if I could have afforded it, I had no choice but to download what I could find on th einternet. While people talk about finding a file serial.txt, I never had one. So my case may not be as simple as your suggestion above.

In the video they have the key they used (and as coincidence has it, it was the same key that was included in the Mini vci I bought off of amazon). Slow the video down (or stop it) and write the key down;).

Then I put that when you get the prompt:).

Give it a try and see how it works(y).

    Hi @whburling

Maybe you didn't receive my PM on Monday the 14th at 11:20am regarding the above issue, or maybe I never received your reply.

well....I finallty was able to view the video that Ray pointed me to.
Thank you Ray. . I captured the key off the video. it is: 1(repeated 32 times) 5000151(repeated 8 times)
Unfortunately it failed to work for me.

I vageuely remember long ago....that I needed the software id and from that id someone derived the key. it was deerived for a given geographic region. But I could be very wrong.. So i am stll stuck

    Hi !
I am not sure what PM means. I did received a wonderful letter from you discussing my options for the P0700 error.
Since that time,my neighbor put his obdii reader on my car and got a very different code than P0700 that autozone got. So I decided it was important that I run my own techstream on my car to identify what codes I actually have . I need a key to operate my TS 10.30.029 whose softeware id is:
    C264BEF4173882FD1379489718AFF006.
My car is not working at all. I had it towed home.. I need to be sure I am fixing the codes that really need fixing (as I have very little money).

Since you viewed the video, were you able to follow it, including the overwriting of the Techstream file in the program files?

What region did you select: Europe like in the video?

What message is displayed when trying to connect to your Prius?

Did you check the driver to make sure the mini vci cable is being recognized in the COM ports?

As you can see, this install can be a bit fiddly and requires a bit of tech savvy :(.

But it’s a powerful tool once you get t working(y).

Which code(s) did your neighbor retrieve with the other OBD2 reader?

Go on amazon.com and read the reviews on a mini vci. One in particular has hundreds of reviews. There's alot of info in those reviews on how to get TS to work.
