Inverter Coolant Pump Speed Signal

    Well today i replaced my engine water pump as suggested by the mechanic, but the problem still persists (Check light and yellow warning light is ON, the car stops when get overheated, then starts after 2 or 3 minutes), now the mechanic says that inverter water pump is also to be replaced. he said that the code P314A (Inverter Coolant Pump Speed Signal) refers to both the engine coolant pump and the inverter water pump which i think makes no sense.
    Need suggestions now how to proceed, (if inverter pump is also replaced, will my car get fine??)

    Since the code is set for the inverter coolant pump, replacement of the pump could fix it;).

    But are there any other codes:whistle:?

    Remember there are 2 coolant loops so one is not dependent on another;).

    I would ask the mechanic for the print out of the codes, then post them up here :).

    Are there any other mechanics in your area?

    No other codes just P314A (Inverter Coolant Pump Speed Signal), so need to replace inverter pump now, no other good mechanics this one is a bit reliable and only deals in Prius.
    If i am not wrong i need to replace this thing? pic attached

    if there was no movement in the reservoir, it needs replacing. whether the engine coolant pump needed replacing, i can't say. are there any other issues? we won't know until you have replaced the inverter pump.

    Cross reference your part number to make sure you get the right one;).

    Inverter pump will be replaced day after tomorrow, then will see how the system responds. No other codes apart from p314a so far.

    The mechanic is trying to tell u that there is issue with your inverter coolant pump but u assumed he saying engine coolant pump.
    The code he gave u has to do with inverter coolant pump.
