    You mean something like:

[SARCASM] Does the Prius have a 2-stroke engine? [/SARCASM]

How about "JK" that would be helpful, so we don't waste a lot of time trying to ponder ones statements! :)

    Congratulations and welcome to PC!

If you are tenacious (pun intended) I would swap the EGR components and intake manifold with cleaned ones. One thread discussing this topic is:
EGR & Intake Manifold Clean Results
Also adding a catch can to your PCV (very easy to do when the parts are off for cleaning). This will help prevent the headgasket problem (thousands of $$) later on and keep your fuel economy high.

Wow, definitely will check out all of that info. Maybe I can do it myself. :) I got a decent deal on the car so I don't really want to "undo" that with lots of additional money out the gate. But if it will save headaches later, that's something else entirely. Prevention!

Side question!!! So my car does not appear to have one of those emissions sticker things. The label that is supposed to say if the car is OBDII compliant, yadda yadda. I looked all over the engine compartment, under the hood, even back by the battery. Nothing.

Hints? This was an AZ car when first sold. Did I just buy a huge problem here in CA? Hopefully it's the dealer's problem and not mine, as they are still trying to get the car registered. Hmm.

You probably had your hood replaced. All prius cars are California emissions compliant

OH. Well..... that would be unexpected. {edited!} There is an accident on the carfax but no deets, and no lasting/serious damage found during the inspection, so I guess the hood was part of the repair. The hood currently has a bunch of rock chips, so I guess the car has been fine for quite a while now.

As long as it registers (and re-registers), I'm copacetic.

I'm a new gen 3 owner too and also have a MINI. I have a 2008 S convertible M6. I'm not getting rid of it, need something sporty to drive on the weekends! The Prius feels like a boat compared to the MINI, ha!
