Folks, this should be a wake-up call. Just lie on the ground in front of yours, and with a strong light, take a look through the grill. If needed, a wet-dry vac with thin hose extension could reach through the grill, fish stuff out.

This is a pic of the radiator, it is behind the condenser. This prius has 302k miles on it so there is a little more wear and tear. All the sound insulation fell off the wheel wells.

I put a bra on the front of our Prius very early on to minimize rock chips and damage to the radiator;).

I would take a pic, but the air quality is very poor this evening due to the Atlas Fire:(.

No leaves get past the bra though(y).

Pretty tough down there right now eh? I was listening to an interview on CBC radio, yesterday morning: he and his family just got out with the clothes on their backs. Next to no warning. Terrible.

It's bad:(. On the drive home tonight, one of the refineries that is ~1/4 mile off of the freeway couldn't be seen due to the thick smoke:eek:.

Then approaching the I-80/680 junction, all of green valley could not be seen. The winds will pick up this evening (10-20 mph) and be out of the north. The terrain in the Green valley highlands is mountainous and inaccessible to the fire crews. Only 3% containment on the atlas fire and over 42,000 acres burned.

I've got the Prius and RX packed and ready to go just in case (y).

    I have a similar problem. Prius model 2010 ZVW30
One morning, about a week ago, I suddenly got an orange triangle and "Check Hybrid System" message.
I tried resetting by removing negative 12v, checked the orange switch on the HV battery, replaced the 12v battery with a new one, checked all fuses and looked for obvious possible causes. All to no avail.
Dealer says it's code P0AA6 with no sub-codes.
At first they couldn't find the fault. After a more in depth search they came to the conclusion that the inverter is at fault and needs to be replaced at a cost of €3000 plus labour. Wonderful!
    However, I'm not convinced.
I'd like to have a look myself, specifically the short wave values mentioned by Travis Decker.
I'm hoping for advise as to what gear to buy, which software version (will the free Lite version be okay?) and which obdII connector.

So, the car drives fine and has done for over a week now, no increase in fuel consumption.
After a few minutes of driving the display, showing the flow of charge stops showing the little animated arrows, and it is no longer possible to chose EV, eco or Sport Mode, these lights also go out.

I'd really appreciate any help or hints, as to what the causes may be or regarding test equipment.
Please bear in mind that I'm based in Germany.
    Cheers.

Please what conclusions did you make to arrive at that "short of a thing"?
    Is there any relationship?

First picture on Post 12, the HV plug shorted out, probably from too much water.
I congratulate you on wanting to learn, stick with us.
