What's the new replacement cost for hybrid batteries in Australia? Has it gotten cheaper over time?

    Hi.

I'm in Australia. I notice Toyota has more hybrid models now.

What's the trend for the price of having Toyota replace the hybrid battery in the Prius as well as the other hybrid Toyota cars? Is the price steadily going down over the years?

    Thanks.

No idea - they're under warranty for 8 yrs/160,000km. Before I bought mine, I did a bit of asking around, including google searches - and kept coming up with many more reports of PRIUS batteries still going strong at 4-500,000+km and not many where the battery needed replacing. Essentially, they'd be expected to last the (economic) life of the car).

Maybe check with TOYOTA workshop for a price.

You can get used modules on eBay from $30 - $40 depending on Mah discharge. Definitely go with a reputable seller

$50 from Hybrid Automotive, IIRC. At least they try to match modules to your pack mileage.
