More likely high voltage hybrid battery is too low to crank over the engine for startup.

If that is the case then you will need to build or a buy a high voltage charger. Or open up the pack and charge sections of the pack with some other charger until you get the state of charge high enough.

You may want to purchase a version of Toyota's Techstream software and hook it up to a Windows XP laptop so you can see live data from the car.

You could get a voltmeter and read the voltage of the HV battery and report back here.

Be very careful about trying to start the Prius too many times. You basically have less than five attempts to get the car running. More than that and the HV battery will be driven to low to start the car.

Before you turn the key you should do afew things first to give yourself the best odds of starting.
Sop up oil that has collected on the intake under the throttle body.
    Clean the throttle body
    Clean the MAF sensor
    Make sure fuel pump works
Squirt some starter fluid down the intake and immediately jump in the car and turn the key and then hop back out to continue putting fluid down the carb to keep it running until car can take over itself.

Feel free to call me me during weekday work hours to discuss.

Anything light up on the dash when you turn the key to ON?

Any clicking sounds from behind the back seat when you turn the key to START?

I love autocorrect, and now I'll be looking for as many opportunities as possible to say viltmetvo.

    Viltmetvo viltmetvo viltmetvo.

Wait ... how does autocorrect come up with viltmetvo?

Please I need help with my 03 Prius. The vehicle runs and drives good. Recently I took it to a body man to change some body parts. After about 2 to 3 weeks the vehicle was completed, the vehicle wont start. Checked and recharged the 12v battery, still the dashboard lights came up but, wont start. Took it down to the dealer, and they said " the key is not connecting with the computer and it will cost over 1k usd to fix". I don't believe this. Please I need help. Thanks
