service manual/repair manual

    the parts manual for the "classic" Prius is available on e-bay but I'm not sure on the service manual. Manuals for the 2k4 are available from Toyota if your a US custormer or have a US billing address, lE like a relative living in the US with a credit card address in the US.

    Toyota's web site lists three volumes for the 2005 Prius repair manual.

    Combined cost is ~$300.

    It costs $10/day or more for longer time periods. You can download everything in the tech manuals and repair manuals there...but be forewarned, it has to be done one file at a time with several hundred files that are not logically arranged or indexed in any way.

    Evan he has a 2001 Japan version of the Prius he's imported to the Philippines. Now I'm sure that the 97-2000 were not OBD compliant but I'm not sure about the 2k1-3 versions.

    Has anyone downloaded the portion of the manual that deals with bluetooth phones (in particular the quality settings available in the diagnostics screen in the 04/05 model)?

    I'm still looking for answers on their function...

    Huh. I have a full 3000+ page Repair Manual PDF for my 2005. I don't remember where I found it, but...

    Says they will download the manual to your eBay account. They probably stole it from the Toyota repair website and are illegally selling it. Only 13 feedback they probably get shut down and change their username

    I haven't seen any sign that Microsoft's CHM format has anything to do with downloading from TIS.

    What you find on TIS is straight-up internet-standard HTML with the images being PNG, and some JavaScript (along with a lot of documents, like TSBs, that are already PDF for your downloading pleasure). The wiring diagram browser uses SVG also, another widespread standard, and a whole bunch of JavaScript (for the fancy features like letting you click components and follow the circuits around).

    Anyway, that download link really just explains how to go through the info doing print-to-file to make PDFs, so what it's saying to do will work ok (though links in the resulting PDFs will be dead); it's just the offhanded reference to "chm mode" in that post that doesn't seem to be supported.

    The Bently manual is excellent well worth the money. In depth discussion on operation also and full list of all OBD codes. You can also pick up the Prius G2 oem electrical diagram manual on ebay for $25.

    One little peeve, though, if you're posting questions on PriusChat and you're getting your info from a Bentley, Chilton, etc. manual, please mention that (i.e. don't just say "I found such-and-such in the manual"), so confusion doesn't happen when people referring to the real manual to help you might assume that's where you're looking, or wonder how you missed something that's in there.

    Disable blockers for spam and/or cookies, set browser security setting to standard. I had to reload a couple of times, expect some spam ads.

    To download any section. When the viewing window is fully loaded, in the upper right corner, click on the printer icon and choose to save it as a pdf.

    If you can get to the pdf page, sample pic attached.
