I messaged HR Block's customer service and they said,

"our software and online products do not support forms until they are officially released by the IRS, so it may be an error or non-updated page with the IRS" (referring to the IRS still showing the form as a draft)

I input my W2 and filled out the form without issue. I'll probably end up filing sometime this week

Good news: Received $5000 tax refund from Colorado last year after buying a Prime.
Bad news: Received a 1099G from Colorado this year.
Are all State credits/rebates for Primes considered taxable income by the feds? In Colorado, you claim the credit when you file State taxes, not at the dealer.

I was able to submit my federal return yesterday for the $4502 credit using the free online tax prep from Credit Karma.

Yes, got this email last night:

The federal government accepted your tax return. Woohoo! Here's what comes next:
If you haven't already, print a copy of your return and store it for your records.
You've got free Audit Defense! Should you need it (and we hope you don't) the instructions are included with your tax return.
If you're expecting a refund, you can track your status on the IRS website (it usually takes them around 24 hours to get it posted).
Generally, you can expect your refund within 21 days.

Per the official Web site, not the one in California. The way it works here is that after buying your car, you mail a request for the state rebate, and they send you a check. It is like a factory rebate, except the funds come from the state, not the manufacturer.

I just bought a 2018 Prius Prime. Has anyone filed for PA state "Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Rebates"? The program guidance says "Rebate request forms and required documentation must be submitted online via the Electronic Single Application System (ESA). I went there and couldn't find the program to file the rebate under. Has anyone successfully submitted the rebate request there? What is the program name you used? Any info is appreciated.

Sorry a newbie to prime here. And the post is very useful but a long one to scroll up. :) So does anyone know if Utah has any tax incentives for 2019 prime?

Omg, that's a definitely another backward step they've taken even though the state's air pollution is getting worse and worse. Not sure how they are going to improve the air by penalizing clean air vehicle owners and encouraging crowded high density housings with giant SUV and pick up trucks idling on the roads everywhere!

Try telling them that, they will go on a diatribe about how everyone from bicycles to semis needs to pay the same amount or your not paying your fair share
And it’s your duty to pay your fair share!

Hi all. Is there a simple updated list of State incentives for the Prius Prime? I have a 2017 and travelled to Maryland in 2018 to get it but am considering traveling to another state to get a 2020. I live in FL and my state stinks in this way. Thanks

not that i have seen. best bet is to peruse the recent pricing thread. don't confuse state incentives with dealer and toyota regional incentives.
you only get state incentives if you are a resident

iirc, maryland is still a good place for dealer incentives

This is a good link for local and federal rebates for PHEV/EV vehicles. Simply plug in your ZIP code (no pun intended):

So Oregon had a 1500.00 rebate that took effect after I bought my Prime in 18. The rebate was backwards useable to January of 18 (I got mine in July) but they didn't actually tell anyone. You had to submit within 6 months of purchase. I found out about the rebate in 2019 at the Portland Auto Show EXACTLY 6 months and 4 days after purchase. I submitted the form and they denied me because it was more than 6 months.

Oh well, I wasn't banking on it anyway. So two weeks ago I got a letter from the State saying that they reconsidered the late filers and were giving me the full rebate after all. Last Friday I got the 1500.00 check. SWEET!

Congratulations! Your Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) application has been approved for your Toyota Prius Prime for $1,500.00.

We typically issue rebate checks within 90 days of application approval. You will receive an email once your check has been placed in the mail. Delays beyond normal processing times may occur.

It took 14 - 15 days to be approved. 90 days for the check??
