I brought my 2010 in for a software update to the dealer
Now my little tire pressure warning light is on solid
    also
It blinks for a little while and then becomes solid

    This has never happened before

I am wondering if they are going to believe me when I call

Has this happened to any of you if so what did you do?

    Thanks

    Are the tire pressures good?

It could be that one of the sensors was on its way out and needs replaced and it is ironic timing.

If pressures are good, that’s what I’d say;).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

    I will check tire pressure
I don't think it's coincidence They did an over all inspection including tire pressure so I think something else happened there
I spoke to the dealer and they want to charge me to do check it out
    Note
I see there is a procedure to initialize tire pressure monitoring system so I wonder if they changed the pressure so much that I have to do that

Maybe the software update cleared out the TPMS sensor IDs? (It takes 20 minutes for the TPMS light to go on if the sensors are not recognized.)

Were you running higher pressures? If so, and you had done the TPMS reset at that higher, and they set them lower (especially if they did it soon after you arrived, tire pressures elevated due to driving), that might have triggered the TPMS.

Yes, first step, get that out of the way.

That is interesting and it seems about right the light did not go on immediately but shortly after I picked up the car
How do you fix that ?
    Mendel
I was running higher tire pressure for gas economy I think 36 psi

Those sound like a defective/missing sensor. But again: check pressures first. Or even just visually check, very first, lol.

Pressure is 31 pounds all around I set it at 36 about a year ago so the tech changed it I think

Do dealerships sometimes create malfunctions to generate income?
Is is possible to disable the TMPS?
Where is the TMPS computer module located?
What does a new sensor cost and can I install it myself ?

    Thanks

Did you try resetting the TPMS?

If that doesn't work, you can disable the system by using the trick in this post. Read beyond that post until the end, because you’ll probably jumper the wrong holes. The diagram is showing the backside of the connector.

Just to ask the stupid question: you raised the pressures, and light did not go out?

I adjusted the pressure according to the door markings
35 in the front and 33 in the back I used a guage to check and I think it was pretty close
The light did not go out

Then I tried to reset the TPMS the light did not go out

I don't now what the problem is
    I am wondering
if the tech who checked my cabin filter which is behind the glove box also where the (TPMS computer is located )
did something to the TMPS computer like knocked it or disconnected something when he was in there
    just speculating

As others have chimed in, the blinking TPMS light that stays solid means one or more of TPMS inside tires are bad. It is just a coincidence, software update or cabin filter change has nothing to do with it. Your car is 9 years old, and battery in TPMS sensors are rated to last ~7 years. If you really want to fix it, take your car to any tire shop and ask for an aftermarket TPMS sensor. It should be about $50 labor included for one TPMS if only one dead battery. If you take your car back to a dealer and use OEM TPMS the same procedure will cost you upward of $200. However, even if only one dead battery, it may be prudent to change all four TPMS preemptively to save your time and money later. How are your tires on your car? If they are due to replacing soon, I would just wait until you are ready to buy a new set of tires and install a new set of 4 TPMS at that time to save even more time and cost on installation. Or, you can simply ignore TPMS warning light altogether and buy one of external TPMS monitor (~$40 at Amazon) or practice due diligence on monitoring tire pressure on a regular base with your handheld pressure gauge.

As the above poster stated. You have one or more TPS with a dead battery. Need to replace one or more.

The TPMS light in our 2007 was doing the same thing as the OP's several months ago. When I went into Techstream, I saw that one of the sensors was not reporting. I thought I would replace that one sensor when I put on new tires, but after clearing the code a couple of times, the light has stayed off. (Actually, it has come on solid a couple of times since, but when I checked the tire pressures, I have found one of them to be low, whenever the light has been lit). Someone mentioned that although the batteries will eventually die, they can sometimes be brought back to life, through some unknown process. I'm wondering if the act of trying to poll them through Techstream or possibly resetting them several times using the under dash button might have temporarily resurrected the one that was giving us problems. (Of course, now that I've said something, it is sure to start acting up again.)

I still think my problem had something do to with the dealer visit but I do not have enough knowledge to prove or disprove this
