Mini Vci or VXDIAG on Amazon has Techstream paired with it ;).

You’ll need a laptop to run Techstream, but they’re are plenty on Craigslist :).

    Good luck (y).

Put a new thermostat in. Had the tank raised to get all the air out. I’m watching the temps increase. Touch all the hoses, getting hot. The hose that never gets hot finally got hot (passenger side). I start revving the motor temps staying steady. I put the tank back to original spot. Shut off out of maintenance mode.

Start up go for a short drive. Cruising, temps going up. Ok let me smash on the gas, temps jump up quick! I ease off coasting back home. I let car cool down. Check all hoses no leaks. Start back up waiting/ revving motor. Boom check engine light comes on water pump code. New water pump 2016 model. I pull off the water pump. Propellers are seized up. So maybe the 2016 water pump just doesn’t like the 2010 ecu. I put my old water pump back on with 30k miles. I’ll report back once I get some more coolant.

No steam no temp light just watching the temps from obd scanner.

So i started my prius after 16 days of non use. I start it today to change pads and rotors. I got multiple lights on dash. I drove about 25 miles now and it still doesnt go away. I checked 12v battery its reading 12.8 like 2 min after shutting off. Should i check voltage in morning? Battery was installed 12/17 at toyota dealership

    Lights currently illuminated

Orland Park is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois? This time of year 16 days downtime with no battery minder will have an impact, not sure how much. The car imposes a low level but constant demand on the 12 volt.

Would you recommend getting a new battery to check if the lights go away? The car started right away without hesitation. I know brius doesnt have starter like normal gas powered cars.
The weather here is around 6-35 farenheit

Maybe just disconnect/reconnect the neg cable first, see if that clears it?

You're talking to a guy that has a CTEK 4.3 charger nearly constantly hooked up, commencing any day the car's not going anywhere, and left on until such time as the car is used.

We're just flirting with freezing here on the coast, overnight, at the worst, around 32F. Sometimes a few degrees lower.

If you can read the codes, diagnosis becomes easier. A bunch of lights on the dash are just scary and I don't know what they mean.
Your 12 volt battery is in normal range. It's only used for the electronics, computers, and accessories of the car.

The torquepro app doesnt show any so i am going to get it checked at autozone or advance auto.

Also my speedometer shows 0mph and energy monitor doesn't work. No consumption mpg either.

My right fender liner(driver side) went missing. It was loose and there when i parked. I go back after more than 2 weeks its missing.

I had an ELM327 bluetooth OBD 2 scanner that made my ABS go crazy on 3) of my Prii.

The "no MPH" thing sounds like a combo meter problem, but I'd resolve the bluetooth torquepro scanner issue first.

No problems before the ELM 327.
I had to reset my car with an Actron OBD 2 / ABS scanner to make my ABS codes go away.
I tried it on 3 different cars, all prius's. I know it was the Torque Scanner.

    Thanks for the update.

My Gray V has been flashing the temp light a few times a day since I changed my antifreeze.
It's funny cause I did the swap in the summer and had no problem then.
At least you know what's wrong with your car. Fingers crossed.
I'm going to change out my pump and thermostat soon.

Every time i press brake, it makes buzzing noise and it doesnt record miles driven on trips. It drives normal (starts and stop at red light). I went to autozone and advance auto but they dont have abs capability even tho they had same actron obd scanner

So I disposed of the remains of my blown engine today. I removed the lower oil pan to drain the milky mess left over. I found the majority of the skirt from the number one piston, the wrist pin, and nearly two inches of a second connecting rod. So apparently my engine was attempting to toss a second rod when it stopped turning.

I just wish that it had happened during the daylight when it blew up. I bet there was a glorious smoke show when it grenaded. Since there were no takers, the Gen 4 head did go with it. However I did keep the Gen 4 intake manifold.

We're like within 20 minutes of this guy and we've had cars out in this polar vortex for more than 16 days and they've been OK. Our Prime sat for almost a month during the last polar vortex.

On the other hand, you could have the kind of show a lot of RSX guys got when they "money shifted".

The results are in. The analysis says put more miles on it and retest.

How many miles did your donor have at install? I had changed earl in the beast 2-3 weeks before engine swap and I didn't bother to reset the reminder. Between that and the 810 miles past the first oil change on the donor it should be right which back on schedule. I have the kit and if I may send it in just to start a baseline and send them every other oil change.

The yard told me 12k on the odometer is what they had in the computer. The overall condition of the engine said that may have been a high estimate.

Does anyone know is a 4th gen motor will interchange with 3rd gen. I know the fuel air delivery system is different but the blocks look the same. Has anyone actually swapped one out?

Everything looks the same. I got two 2016 motors and the valve cover and the fuel air delivery system is different but the blocks look the same

To answer my own question. The coolant housing is different coming off the back of the head. Every thing else seams to be interchangeable to make the swap possible. If anyone comes up with a adapter for it I'd be interested
