I pulled this error from my scan tool today.
Bought the car in December from a used car dealer.

Got the error last month P0A80

Went to Toyota Jamaica, am not covered under warranty because I bought an imported Japanese domestic imported to Jamaica and they don't sell hybrids.

Am stuck with this error and can't afford a 5900USD battery.

Does anyone know where I can get modules to buy?

I need to disassemble, load test and replace bad cells/modules

Outside of Japan this car is called a Prius C

What load do I add for load test?

I found cheaper batteries but they won't ship.

Ouch, that's going to be difficult. There are a few users on this site who deal in modules, but I don't know if any of them have a way to ship into Jamaica.

Have you tried connecting to the car with Techstream software? I haven't used it yet myself, but I understand that it can use the built-in diagnostics to an advanced degree and give you a good picture of what you are up against on a block-by-block level.

Tell me more about techstream, also connect me with sources for buying modules, I have a US address I can give to send it to me.

I don't have Techstream yet myself, but from what I have read I understand that this is Toyota's own diagnostic software. There are pirated copies of an older version available on ebay along with the cable required to connect the car to a laptop. The best recipe for success appears to be an older PC laptop with a 32-bit version of windows 7 on it. Keep that laptop off the internet, just use it for the car.

Because it is toyota's own software it goes beyond basic OBD-II and allows much more detailed information to be pulled from the car's computers.

I know there are a few people and companies selling modules but I've never bought or sold any, so I don't know which ones are good.

Also - late reply, but if you can use an Android phone, or an iPhone, you can get OBD-II scanners that plug in and use WiFi or Bluetooth. I am sure Techstream is better, but I can still see live data for all batteries and systems on my Prius and Leaf, including realtime current, voltage, internal resistance, and dozens of variables. If using iPhone you need a Wifi-capable OBD-II device, but for Android you can also use Bluetooth.

PM me as well as replying if this seems an easier option (if you have the phone, or tablet, the device is pretty cheap via eBay) :)

P.S. My girlfriend has a Prius C (I convinced her to switch from a BMW) so I can probably give more advice if needed!)

I have a ODB SCANNER via Bluetooth and it says blocks are bad, see picture... Note that this is a Prius c so the readings after block 10 may not apply, am not sure.

Ignore blocks 11-14, they don't exist in c models.
