Cylinder misfire solved

    I was wrong again. It still has startup knock. Teh radiator cap was bad so after changing it the system comes up to pressure and now it knocks again. It also uses antifreeze and there is no bubbles or oil in the antifreeze. Could it be leaking around the air flow sensor/throttle plate? If it were leaking at the head wouldn't there be dirt/residue or oil or air bubbles in the antifreeze?

    One thing to keep in mind, if you're using the spec'd Toyota coolant: it comes pre-mixed, 50/50 in the States, so once you start putting significant amounts of water in the system, to get back to 50/50 mix you would need to drain and refill several times I think, to flush the excess water.

    There is no radiator cap.

    What shall we call the
    What shall we call the pressure cap on the circulation tank?
    On point: Where might coolant be going that is not head gasket related and yet getting consumed? Throttle body? Do these leak?

    [​IMG]I found my issue , I bought a cheap iPhone boroscope and found cylinder #2 has coolant in it. I guess I have a blown head gasket, the car has 220,000 miles , I went to Autozone and bought some K seal, , I’ve been losing a little bit of coolant every night. I hope the k seal helps my car out.

    I wouldn't use that stuff, clogs up the entire coolant circuit, including cabin heater core?

    The only way I'd use that stuff is to limp it straight to a lot to trade it in.

    I have @Pedal Logic ’s on the docket for next Friday :).

    But I guess it’ll be in a different vehicle than when the appointment was made(y).
