Original Tail light removal and installed the JDM G's Tail lights: *** Do this at your own risk!!! i am not responsible or liable for any damages you may cause by repeating this tutorial****

    Preparation:
    1. Use masking tape around the outer edge of the body panel and bumper area (preventing any accidental paint scratch during the removal process)
    2. Use a pry tool to open the rear panel inside the trunk area
    3. There are 3 screw nuts holding the housing (showed in red arrows, remove the nuts by using a 12 mm wrench)
    4. Unplug the power connector from tail light
    5. Before you begin pulling the tail light, notice the 2 red circles (Left side is a Tab guide, top is fitting pin insert)
    6. The arrows are the screws which was held by the nuts you remove earlier
    When pulling the tail light:
    • Waggle the tail light side to side (with both hands on the tail light, slowly loosing the bolts, tab guide)
    • Stand close to the tail light and use your right hand to grab onto the upper portion of the tail lights between the gap of the body and tail light.
    • With your left hand holding the left outer housing, and your right hand fingers from upper tail light housing against the body panel
    • Slowly pull and push against the body panel toward you. (you will feel a pop of the tail light fitting pin separates from the upper fitting pin insert on the body panel)
    • Slide the housing toward you. (DO NOT Force it out which may damage the guide tab on the left side)
    • there are 2 gaskets on the body panel which will need to be removed and place back onto the new tail lights screws (top screw and most outer screw near the left side) ***those gaskets are for water proofing, make sure you put them back onto the new tail light***
    • Repeat the same procedure on the Right side tail lights
Few things to watch out for when reinstalling:
    • Install the new tail light from the outer tab guide and the fitting pin/ fitting pin insert is located.
    • Check your tab guide is sliding against the tail light guide rail and pop the fitting pin into the pin insert.
    • Firmly press down the top portion of the tail light and replace the nut back onto the top screw and secure first (due to tightness of the space, you will have to be very careful when placing the nut back on)
    • Place all nuts back onto the screw and lightly secure them (do not over tighten)
    • Check the upper portion of the tail lights edge is seated inside the slope of the body panel (this step is to ensure water will run above the body panel and away from the cavity of the tail lights.
Now enjoy the look of the new tail lights(y)(y)

now the Tail light is JDM-ized. which one would you preferred? that Chromatised look or the stealthily look?

Awaiting arrival of some oem parts prepping for a few minor upgrades:
    • Mirror covers (prepping for the Sequential turn signal): Toyota 87945-74010-P0, 87915-74010-P0 (wrap in 3M Piano Black)
    • Shark Fin: Toyota 86300-12B30-C0 (Replacing the outdated antenna on the roof)(Test trial)
    • Rear Suspension bolt replacement: Toyota SU003-05213, SU003-05235 (base on reviews i have read, the bolts add rigidity to the rear shocks and axle beam) These bolts are made for rear engine mount Toyota GT86, FRS. maybe a Placebo effect, will find out soon.
    • Engine Hood lift: Toyota 53337-75010, 53336-75010, 68961-20140 ( gas struts ebay after marker 20 dollars)
here are all the part numbers, in case anyone were interested in those mods.

After testing the Shark Fin. FAIL!! i guess i forgot to cross reference US radio antenna which has the additional plug (for that XM radio thingy) but i was still able to install it and kept the original antenna base tie down inside the quarter panel.

After testing: FM,AM, Navigation and phone all works. Only thing i lost is the XM radio which i do not use. Love the look of the roof line :p

Using this link to remove the headliner and all the trims (page 1-10): lots of Japan goodies just arrived today. :D:D:D Valentine gifts for my Car.LOL

3 weeks of rain and SNOW in LA..which is the oddest weather we had in Socal, finally had the chance to install the new wheels and turn signal mirrors.

After the terrible vinyl wraps job by me on the mirror cover. I decided it is best to keep my day job and leave that to the professionals on a later day. (still deciding if i want to match the color of the car or blacked out to match the lines of the window) The original dark gray mirror cover color seems to blend well with the wheels, and lower grill color.

Thanks to the help of AudioCityUSA to complete this round of installs. here are the results:

    • Mirror covers (prepping for the Sequential turn signal): Toyota 87945-74010-P0, 87915-74010-P0
    • Avest Vertical arrow turn signal (Bronze Gold)
    • Niche Verona M150 wheels 18x8, +40, 29 lbs
    • Falken Ze950 225/45/18, 24 lbs
I highly recommend the Avest turn signal mod!! These feature should of came stock on the Prius models. DRL, Sequential turn signals, and foot light

hopefully weather will warm up next week to give a good bath and wax.

still awaiting for the OEM G's suspension to arrived from Japan and install.

hope you guys like the look of the car:love::love:

Prius v Interior upgrade is completed in Piano Black! LOVE IT! it is a good upgrade for the interior.

During the installation of the steering wheel switch pad controls, i was worried that i might pop the airbag. After removing the steering wheel cover, i actually didn't have to disconnect any of the airbag wires. i have full access to all the screws holding down the switch pad controls.

I did disconnect the Negative wires on the battery after removing the cover. (Just in case) but overall the install was simple and just have to find a way to hold the steering wheel cover in a position that i can free up my hands to work on switches.

IMO, Piano Black panels is a much better look then the Dark Silver finish which came with the v. i will update more photos (raining cats and dogs Again in Socal )

    Parts used:
    • 3M 1080 Piano Black Vinyl wrap on all door panels contorls, and center console
    • JDM Toyota G's S-Tune Black Edition steering wheel switch pad contorls
    • Avery Blue metallic Vinyl wrap to remove all the chrome accents
    • Ebay Blue Chrome trim finish on the interior door panels.

Did some minor interior upgrades to reduce wind noise and door cushioning. Does it help? somewhat, i guess.
the rubber seal does it's job on reducing the noise when you closed the doors and overall cabin noise is quieter then before. Base on non-measurement estimate of -5 to may be -8 db reduction in wind and road noise.

    Ebay Weather strips:
    • Z type EDPM rubber seal for A piller
    • B type EDPM rubber seal for B and C Piller
    • P type EDPM rubber seal for bottom of doors
    • B Type EDPM Rubber seal for engine bay

Project #BluemonsterGRsport and all the parts are on order just waiting for arrival.
    • Tein Flex-A Coilovers
    • GR Sport Front, Grill and Rear Bumper
    • GR Emblems

    Very nice mods.
May I ask, with your piano black steering wheel trim, is there a piano black elbow rest/ door (all 4 door) panel window switch panels in your future?

Unfortunately Toyota do not make the Piano Black door handle trims for Left hand drive cars, only JDM Right drive cars on their G'S and GR models.

I vinyl wrap all the door handle trims. (excused the terrible job, i am newbie on wrapping) i will re-wrap the trim pieces when i order a sample of this vinyl to see if they match the Steering wheel trim pieces.

Why did Toyota remove the 3rd air vent from my 2017..that would come in handy when i have passengers in the back seat.
    Nice knob!

sorry just to clarify Read bumper "cover?" you meant the bumper protector? or the whole bumper? Thanks
