For those of you that are saying that your MPG went down after the recall, how are you checking your mpg? I just had the software update done so that I could register my car in California. I will say that it does seem that the "cons. MPG" that shows on the HUD is reading a little lower than it used to, but I think it is just more accurate. My HUD MPG would always show 45-46 MPG, but when I measured it against the miles driven and the amount of gas I used, it would always come out to about 42 to 43 MPG. Now after the software update my cons. MPG on the HUD is showing around 42 to 43 and is matching what I get when I fill up.

I do notice that the fan to cool the hybrid battery seems to run a lot more often now. Before it would only come on when the outside air temp was really hot. Now it seems to come on and run at all times while driving.

sounds like you are headed for a replacement battery soon. It should only turn on when the modules are overheating.....a sign of failure

Fan will run with normal battery. There's 6 speeds I think. Monitoring ours with ScanGauge I've seen speeds 1 thru 4. But I've yet to hear it, so I'd think if you're hearing it's running at speed 5 or 6. Or your hearing's more sensitive, lol.

If it's running fast enough to hear, maybe not a good sign.

To determine mpg I'd just calculate, tank by tank.

I recently got this recall notice too.(n)
Guess we'll have to wait for Toyota to design and implement their remedy.

I also received that notice from Toyota. Had my service done today and asked about it, but the advisors' screen showed no outstanding recalls. Must be due to the lack of a remedy as yet.

Yeah that notice is to let us know that Toyota is working on a fix. There’s no remedy yet.

So I was going to do a new Torque measurement before I go to get my new J0V recall done.

I booted up torque and I cannot find most of the meters I used before. Any idea why?

Recently had the software recall done on my 2012 Prius V. Never had any problems with this car before. Driving 5 weeks after the software install, the Inverter Fails.

Getting quoted very high prices on repairs.

Anyone else had failure after the software install?

Didn't they extend the warranty on the inverter to 15 years?

I did my recall 2mo ago.. Software updated make the ICE stay longer on every time turn off and turn on the Engine. Even engine has 20 min drive and Engine Coolant has 170 degree F. Each time shut off engine for pickup stuff less than 3min and Turn on engine again will take 2-3 min can be switch to EV mode.

the Prius is my wife's car, it had a few bouts of phantom acceleration and she said it nearly stalled once at a light. Hopefully this update clears it up. I plan on having the inverter checked out at the dealer before the warranty is up on the Hybrid system.

No code no check - dealers. Don’t be surprised. The bad ones will check it quickly with an eye and bill you an hour for it.
