hesitation on acceleration even on a new battery

maybe you need an engine. do a compression test.

 

We are overcomplicating the hell out of this. I challenge ANY of you to run your AC until you have two purple bars on the MFD. Now, with 2 purple bars, try to pull out into busy traffic. Good luck and I hope you don't get crushed.

This is pretty much normal conditions for when the battery is at that state of charge. If you have any type of monitoring app. like hybrid assistant or techstream, it will display the discharge current limit and charge current limit currently active on the battery. Check it out. High temps limit it, low temps limit it, low SOC limits it.

2nd gen might be a little pokier at two bars than 3rd gen (OP has 2010)? Still, I agree: my 2010 feels a little "passive aggresive" with two bars.

Editorial: the hybrid battery charge status doesn't change color on 3rd gen, just "cathode ray tube" green, all the time.

 

And how much drained OUT before you re-filled it ??

If you are trying to say NONE, meaning that you ran it dry........
You don't need to worry about a little hesitation because it will soon be totally DEAD.

 

About a half liter remains in the filter so you are trying to run your engine on a half liter of oil.
Guaranteed massive engine failure fairly soon.

You do know that you are supposed to keep the correct of amount of oil in the engine all the time.......right ??


This does NOT work like the gas tank where you run it until it's about empty and then fill it up.
